To be fair in power with their wacky wings clipped
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Did anyone else get the impression from the Cameron/Clegg speech today that maybe it's going to be an Ant & Dec style relationship? - Will we be seeing them side by side everywhere they go, maybe even sharing a seat at the G20:smileyhea:lovethoug
I was thinking more batman and robin

Well at least we know. LibDems are letting the Tories run riot. LibDems cannot then run against their own record. You want to vote for the government, vote Conservative. You want to vote for someone else, vote Labour. As a distinct political party they no longer exist.0

Sit down Rochdale - all this spinning must be making you feel dizzy.

You don't think this will work against them on the doorstep? Why then are so many of their own people saying this?0

Unfortunately this is the price to pay for the UK to extract itself from the financial mess it has been left in by Labour. If it gives the UK 5 years of political stability to tackle the issues and keep the markets at bay. Then so be it. In 5 years time the parties can revert back to core policy and continue on their different paths.0 -

Change is hard to accept. Many people see everything in black or white, rather than shades of grey.0 -

It's the people the press interview that are saying this. They selectively interview and whip up sentiment in order to generate news stories, anything for extra viewers or newspaper sales.0 -

No they can't - how would that work? We get to an election in 5 years - fixed term plus minority government impossible to remove thanks to Cleggeron's new 55% super-confidence law. Would the LibDems campaign against their own record in government? Or campaign to build on the last 5 years? And knowing that they have just propped up all those goody Tory measures, what would be the point in voting for them? You want Tory measures, vote Tory. You don't want them vote Labour. We're still only offered a choice of two majority governments, or another term of the coaition, so why vote for the lot in the middle?
This is going to kill the LibDems on the doorstep.0
