loads of luck lynz... am sure you can do it... :D
  • Hi Lynz,

I'm a newbie but thought i'd take the plunge as this is a subject close to my heart!

As an aficiando of those property programmes i'd keep it very simple. If you've got wallpaper stick down any peeling edges and then paint the whole place a neutral matt colour. Boring but remember buyers like a neutral canvas! I understand that your mobility is poor but can you get to a wicks? They do huge pots of budget paint in white, magnolia etc and are also great for bargain brushes and rollers. Maybe someone could give you a lift or you could get a taxi??

Often the little things make a difference, you can buy grout whitener, use this over tiles to freshen them up and also peel off the sealant at the edge of baths etc, this makes the whole place look fresher and makes a huge difference. Just doing this to your bathroom and adding a new bathmat and shower curtain makes it look fab.

If you can get to one of the larger Asdas this can be brill for things like new door handles etc and lampshades cushions, rugs and blinds. All for very little money.

Main advice is clear out as much stuff as you can, keep it clean and simple.

I reckon you can do it, good luck!

    TBD xx

Wickes have a website and deliver free for orders over £45, don't think they are on Quidco though :(

Good luck Lynz, wish I was a bit closer, I love a bit of stripping (wallpaper, that is) and painting. Totally agree with the other suggestions in the thread, paint everything cream, slap down some cheap carpet (if needed), get rid of any clutter (sorry, that sounds terrible - not suggesting you have clutter :)). If people feel as though they could move straight in it will encourage them to put in an offer nearer to the asking price. I'm sure if anyone is capable of doing it, its you! Good luck, keep us posted about how you get on. Love Snaggles xx
