They have added 30 days notice in recently, apparently they sent letters out to everybody saying they are changing there T'c & C's but i never received them. Happy with my £3 Sky Sports for now. :) done this past 5 summers, past few years when the season started they offered me half price if i added sports again so i guess i will miss out on that this year. :(

What did you say to them to get that £3 offer?

"consider cancelling the channels or downgrading for the summer to save cash. You may just be offered a much better deal."

Hmmmm, cancelled Sky after 8 years and nothing, thank you and good bye was about it. Rang them a week later to ask for the deal they are giving new customers as a loyal customer for so long. Answer, NO, NO, and NO, thank you and GOOD BYE.

So, cancel by all means, but don't expect an offer. Personally I have decided to run a cable from the dish to my new Freesat HD TV and enjoy saving £50 a month, and watching the world cup in HD for free

Rang up to cancel a few weeks ago and they gave me 3 months free ESPN plus half price phone line rental for 12 months which is worth more than the saving from cancelling Sky Sports.

They offered me another, slightly better deal originally but I already had another offer on my TV package and they said they couldn't have 3 offers on TV at the same time so had to put one of the offers on the phone line, but they said when my other offer runs out in July, to give them another call and see what they can do.

I am optimistic that with a bit of hard haggling, I'll never have to pay full price for Sky again. Ring up and say you're cancelling even if you are not planning to, the worst is you have to back down and get your bluff called by a stranger.

I called today and downgraded my Sports and they didnt offer me anything.

Can I change my Mind and call them to say i dont want to downgrade? or have i got to do it now that i have called them?

How do they pick who they give offers too?

I didn't get this offer so I aborted the action and said I would call back during the week.

I was offered 6 months free HD, free box and free install but I don't want any HD surcharge even 6 months down the line. You hear that Sky? Ditch the surcharge!

It is the above offer I wanted but got offered the £3 a month deal for sports instead which I declined as football season is nearly over. I spent over an hr talking to cs and they would not buldge even when I was going to take multiroom. I do not know how to choose who get what. Did you tell them you do not want the hd deal but you want the sports ones? Sky phoned yesterday and offered me the hd deal with multiroom but no free 6 months subscription. I am looking into virgin.

I have SKY+HD full package including:
    + Sky Sports
    + Movies
    +HD Pack
    = £58per month

Called yesterday to cancel sports for the summer, and said if i keep it, they are dropping my bill to £35 per month for 6 months :D

    That'll do!

Nice thinking folks! I got my dad to call up today for my parents Sky subscription. He managed to get 6 months for 1/2 price (saving around £120) and he still has the sports channels should he want them :)
