i read all the other articles, and im so glad in that im not the only one who has been treated appalingly by this company. But, what im really concerned with is, do i have to pay back this ten year old debt now? some people say that after 6 years you dont, but then others are saying that because i made contact with them, ive reopened the debt? im confused.....You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

What I'm reading suggests that you only lift the statute barred status ('reopen the debt') by making payments, but I'm sure someone who knows more can clarify this. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Remember that if you make any payments, or agree in writing to make payments, then the debt will no longer be statute-barred.
If they got in touch about recent debts, and there is no way to avoid paying them, then he will have to agree a realistic monthly sum and make the payments. But if the debts are old and might be statute-barred, then do not reply in writing, do not pay ANYTHING and do not give them any information.
Note that if he agrees to make regular payments but then fails to make them then he will really be in trouble.0
