I mealy stating it was so many people claim its a business when its in fact a MLM/cartel

You could always start a business the normal way of course it wouldn't be like this and you take a risk but the rewards may be better

Alternatively get a part time job shelf staking, bar work etc at least its a proper wage

That's correct but what do you suggest, you go out there and try and source the thousands of products individually that are in the catalogue then you have to buy in bulk so you need a warehouse to store them and then you need to photograph each individual item and print a catalogue to show them off, etc , etc.

The alternative is to try and find a few items that someone else isn't already selling on ebay or amazon, or if they are to try and source it cheaper than them so you can try and compete on price, so you would probably have to buy hundreds and then there is no guarantee that what you buy will sell you could be left with hundreds of a product that never sells. Plus ebay is full of chinese sellers now who you can never compete on price with.

At least with Kleeneze and Betterware you have no need to do all that and you don't need to have any stock until you have an order.
No need for hundred's of water filters stored in your garage as you did with a certain MLM company from what I hear.

If you are just looking for a wage you should not even be considering Kleeneze and possibly to a lesser extent Betterware as these are commission only businesses where you are working for YOURSELF not a job where you work for SOMEONE ELSE.
Having said that according to John Betterware apparently now guarantee a certain amount of a wage although I suspect there will be strings as in you will have to prove you have done a certain amount of dropping of books, you don't get anything for free.

As we say to start a traditional business you would need hundreds if not thousands of pounds and to be able to source your products, etc., a big risk which most people are not willing to chance. Whereas Kleeneze, Betterware and Wikaniko have already sourced the products and hold the stock so they take that risk away from you hence why anyone can do it.

People do them because they a lot of them are fed up of working for someone else and want to work for themselves but don't want to / can't afford to take the massive risk of building their own business from scratch. :D
  • These are called............ Business opportunities, they are your own business just like a typical franchise.

Good luck to you again Pete & thanks again for all your answers!!!

Betterware is.... from what I can work out........ guaranteeing a weekly wage regardless, there is no strings, they've just had just an annual tidy up & looking for a few additional Team Leaders.

To do this & to tempt GOOD people into their business they will guarantee people a weekly wage in cash as it therefore eliminates the commision only aspect which puts people off.

Sounds like they are very confident???

A third profit warning for retailer Findel has led to plans for an emergency £40m cash call - a move that may annoy investors and hurt share prices

A struggling home-shopping retailer is planning an emergency cash call after issuing its third profits warning in eight months.
Findel, which owns brands such as Kleeneze, a marketing firm that was a sister company to the failed Farepak, is under pressure to slash its debts.
The group is considering a range of moves, including a £40m equity raising that may prove unpopular with investors. Last year, the retailer raised £80m from shareholders to ensure its survival.
Despite using the proceeds to pay down debt, Findel’s stock market value has slumped amid investor concern that its finances remain overstretched. It has sold off loss-making businesses but is still burdened with loans of £310m.
The debt pile is four-and-half times larger than its stock market value, which has fallen by 61% in the past year to just £67m. Its shares languished at 13.5p on Friday, a far cry from mid-2007 when they almost hit 500p.
The company, based in Burley in Wharfedale, West Yorkshire, operates a hotch-potch of catalogue and online retail brands including Kitbag, a supplier of replica football kits. It also supplies a range of educational products to schools.
Last week’s profits warning was Findel’s third earnings shock this year. In March, accounting problems in its education arm meant results had to be restated, and in July the firm admitted debts were a concern and announced losses of £76m.
Findel’s banks are now increasing the pressure on Roger Siddle, the company’s chief executive, who joined in September and is undertaking a strategic review. The firm’s lenders may also force the sale of bigger businesses, including the education division. It recently replaced its auditor Deloitte with KPMG.
Meanwhile, Focus DIY is attempting to raise about £40m. The loss-making company has a £250m debt pile left over from previous private equity owners. Lloyds Banking Group is concerned about its loans to the chain and has lined up Ernst & Young to review its position

  • Following on from the above........

Speaking to a Kleeneze agent on Friday & he said he had received an anonomous text claiming to be from a Kleeneze INSIDER @ HQ saying that the company will be gone in January & for everyone to get out now!!!

Heard this before I have to say so this is TBC ;)

Common knowledge that Andrew Cohen was going to buy Kleeneze a few years ago to eliminate the competition :rotfl: Now Andrew's back at the helm @ Betterware he might not need to :T

Lots of rumours about Findel & is there anyone like to add anything that they might of heard

Might want to get in Betterware while their still offering a guaranteed wage :D

    Regards

  • I did Kleeneze a few years ago. I stuck at it for a couple of years, built up a good customer base which I started to lose because many of the products were cheap tat. Many of the products turned up in Poundland. It was a big rip-off, not only to the customers but to the agents too. The only ones who stood any chance of making money were the uplines.

Not all uplines are honest either. We got well and truly stung by ours - and so did several other agents.

If Kleeneze goes belly-up, I for one will be very happy. It will wipe the smirk off our upline's face who set out to make a lot of trouble for us and other people who were unfortunate enough to fall for their garbage.
