Kleeneeze or Betterware?

I can't seem to access it. Unsure if it is removed or link is invalid however if you don't mind me asking what was it?
Hey RS2014. Most items you can buy from Poundland however during the time I was in Betterware I had rarely took items (about 1 in 1000 items) back if customers believe it was poor quality. I have used some Betterware items myself. I have bought some items from £1 shops like Poundland/99p store/poundworld. The quality is good for most items but not as good as Betterware's quality. Also with buying with Betterware, you'll get the 12 month money back whereas the £1 shops only offer 30 days money back. Also you'll be getting personal customer service with a big smile.
Believe it or not, I think the market for catalogue companies are in fact growing. Just because someone may have access to Internet doesn't mean they won't order from catalogues. Look at me, I'll always order from catalogues and I have internet.
Catalogues are always better than internet because you can scroll through the pages looking for items.
With Betterware or any other catalogue company, or in fact any business, It will take time to find the customers. My first month in Betterware I only got £100 (commission was £20) of orders. 5 years later of constantly doing activity (i.e. regularly dropping the brochures) I was earning £500 per month. My highest year's pay was about £7500. First year was about £1500.
Just give it time for your customers to notice you'll be visiting regularly and don't give up on your first drop/month.
Yes, I think your comment on the popularity of catalogue services could be correct.
Ebay and Amazon seem to be all about under-cutting the opposition,
Surely sellers cannot keep going in the long-term under these conditions. Where do they get their stock from at a cheaper price than that at which they can then sell it on Ebay and Amazon.
Added to which, Ebay seems to have its fair share of rogue traders, and buying and selling online just seems to me to be so impersonal (and no fun, quite frankly)0 -
The Ex-kleeneze distributors have said everything and I got my son to call up kleeneze to confirm it. Of which they confirmed it to be true.
They probably won't discuss it to a random stranger however my son gave all of their details (i.e. AC number, name etc).
Well, if they did ban the group then it wasn;t a permanent one.
They have been back advertising on UJM.
I know - I replied to an advert (without realising who they were).
I have received an email this morning inviting me to watch a video (without teling me it was for Kleeneze in the email).
I watched the video and it was for Kleeneze.0 -
I do Betterware and have done for a few years.
I started it on 8 hours a week. I then increased my hours (and patch) to 16 a week to keep child tax credits. I increased them again last year to 30 hours, again to keep the child tax credits.
It's the easiest, most enjoyable job I've ever had. Little or no stress. I dress how I like. I work when I want.
Typical weekly sales are around £1k (more in the run up to Christmas), which earns me £200.00 weekly commission, plus an Annual bonus. This equates to a hourly rate of just under £7 cash in my pocket based on 30 ish hours a week.
There's no income tax to pay because you can claim lots of legitimate expenses on your tax return to reduce your net income. Only £2.40 a week National Insurance. Plus as a parent I qualify for child tax credits because I work thirty hours a week.
My main expense is petrol and the other costs of running a car. I get free books, free stationery, my own protected patch, and lots of friendly old ladies as customers who give me repeat business month after month.
Because the books are free, you are able to work your patch hard. If a customer doesn't leave the book out, so what, it's not cost me anything.
The knack is to bring on new customers at a greater rate than you lose them (customers move, die, lose their jobs, decide they don't want the book anymore, etc, etc). Your book allocation is based on your sales from a couple of weeks before and they're free and they're issued by the area manager. And there's normally enough that you can do your job.
I don't earn big money, but I have a cracking hassle free lifestyle with lots of freedom and lots of free time.
How long did it take you to build up your customer base?
I ask because I did Betterware for a very short period (about 2 weeks) around 2 years ago.
I achieved an income of (I am relying on my memory here to a degree) of around £20.00 in that time. Delivered and collected about 500 books in that time (if not more).
What are your areas like by household type?
The area I was given was in the Golden Triangle area of Norwich. An area made up mainly of pretty well-off people and students.
I'm thinking that it wasn't a good area - thinking that good areas are those in upper working class or lower middle class areas where there are not great transport links (and perhaps a lack of nearby pound shops and discount stores). Is that your type of area, Dimitrov?
Norwich is also perhaps not a typical city, politically (certainly parts of the city - including the Golden Triangle area).
The Greens do very well in Norwich. They have a lot of local councillors. Nationally, only Brighton has more.
Perhaps that is a benefit - but I'm not sure it is. There are a lot of plastic bags delivered in amongst the Betterware goods.
No trying to crab what you are doing here Dimitrov. I like the idea of doing it but not if I will end up out of pocket.
The other problem is that I don't have my own transport now.
I know others have said that you can do this job without a car but I don't find that is very feasible, to be honest.
Even in the short time I delivered goods for Betterware, I had several bulky items to deliver. I really think you need a car to do this job properly and offer a decent service to your customers.0 -
Whether it's Betterware, Avon or any other form of direct selling it takes time to build a customer base.
The Betterware way is to put a catalogue through the door of every house in your patch every six weeks. Even the ones that don't give it back to you. This way is fine the first few times you do an area. However, I adopt the rule that if a house doesn't give you a catalogue back two times running they clearly don't want it and I don't waste my time dropping it anymore.
I would say that once you have done a street three times most of the people who are going to buy will have placed an order. At this point I then do one side of the street on drop four and the other side six weeks down the line. Somewhere further on down the line I tend to further decrease the frequency of drops to non-customers. But you should never simply stop canvassing for new business because people move and new people who may be Betterware types move in.
Like most towns mine is a real mixed bag of people and houses. My customer base is mainly women aged between 40 and 100 from all backgrounds. Most are grateful for the service and genuinely enjoy buying from me.
The knack to Betterware is treating people fairly and letting them know when you are delivering. If you leave a note confirming this a couple of days before deliver most people tend to be in with the money ready. And if you put another copy of the catalogue in with this note around 25% will place another order with you for a couple of weeks down the line.
For the vast majority of distributors Betterware is a no hassle, flexible way of earning around £50.00 a week cash for 8-10 hours work. As long as you cover your patch by putting books out and getting them in you will earn money out of it. Some distributors earn this from day one, it took me a bit longer.
With Betterware:
Catalogues are free
Stationery is free
There is no joining fee
So you can't lose money doing it.
Betterware, like most types of direct selling becomes easier the longer you do it.
I always get paid cash weekly and I always get paid my annual bonus on time. That does for me.0 -
Thanks for that, Dimitry0

Kleeneze still continue to lose money and lose ground. Results for the 52 weeks ended 28 March 2014 indicate.
" 2014 Performance Review
Revenue for the year fell by 5.5% to £46.5m, with the gross profit margin falling from 69.2% to 66.8% in part
due to promotional activity around product and catalogue sales. Trading costs reduced by 7.1% to £29.8m.
The operating profit* reduced by £0.7m to £1.3m."
and continues to deterioriate
"in recent months high levels of unexpected demand for newly
introduced or promoted product has led to stock availability issues with a knock-on impact on service levels, restraining sales and recruitment and leading to a significant further deterioration.
A significant fall in the
absolute number of active distributors during the year was due to the withdrawal of the Break Free recruitment channel (where distributors could join for free with a small number of catalogues). It has also become clear that the mix of recruits between those who are seeking a very short term earnings increase and those who are looking for a significant longer-term opportunity, coupled with insufficient activity within the network on new distributor training, has led to a continued strong decline in overall distributor numbers. Despite all this they will still have you believe you can make a FORTUNE !!!0 -
Hi WW
Thanks for the prompt to Findel
Doesn't look good at all for them. :rotfl: Seems to be that Express gifts & their product range is holding them up just about
Will be interesting to see what Findel does with them as they are still in profit BUT the main KPIs for KLZ have been declining for about the last 10 years. How long will that last?
Never had a problem in the main with the foot soldiers BUT the recruiters or the ones that spout total inaccuracies & the ones at the top still to this day saying this complete & utter rubbish to sometimes really really desparate people is what really spurs me on to make sure I spread the word & the truth about them
Still rotten to the core  IMHO

Myself and my husband have just signed up as Kleeneze Distributors and I must say I was full of enthusiasm and raring to go until I read this thread - now I'm a little scared that we've thrown away our money. We're not looking to make mega bucks from it, just a little bit extra every month so we can treat the kids sometimes. We are well aware it'll be hard work, although there are currently no other Kleeneze/Betterware distributors in our area so surely it won't be that bad?!?Mortgage - Start: £96k, Now: £83,039
DPP - Start: £31,129, Now: £29,055

The only way to find out is to get the catalogues out working for you, and see what the response is in your area.;)0
