Thanks everyone!Hope you're not aching too much today from all that skating!
I had no idea that skating could burn that may cals!
I suspect it burned that many cals because a) I was there for a silly number of hours, b) it was freezing cold (colder than normal!) so moving around was the warmest option even if all I was doing was chatting and c) I'm still horribly overweight so it takes more energy to shift me round the ice than the average person! :rotfl:
I spend half of last evening trying to come up with a viable budget for next year and generally confusing myself.Next year is such a big question mark that it is really hard to plan for... Will I have a job after July when my current funding ends?
I have enough savings (and insurance) to keep me going for a fair while but is this enough? I have saved up money to do up my bathroom but should I hold off on this for even longer "just in case" I need that money too? Should I continue to OP or switch that money to savings instead? Should I be trying to have an ultra frugal 2011 or should I continue to spend on "luxuries" at my current rate? Can I actually afford to do the skating I want to do next year?
Gahhhhhhhhhh! :wall: Anyone got a spare crystal ball please?Or more funding? :rotfl:

I had another go with the money planning last night... Why on earth do I have 15 different bank accounts???? No wonder I'm getting confused! :rotfl: I suspect account rationalisation will be occuring very shortly! At least 5 of them can go... :rotfl:
I've been so bad at keeping on top of what I've been spending for the last few months that I was kind of dreading trying to sort it out. Not really updated any of my budget spreadsheets since early July. Surprisingly I seem to be UNDER the overall budget plan I had set at the beginning of the year! (just!) Some categories are horribly over but others are under so they seem to balance out! :j No idea how I managed that but... yipee! :j Looks like I should end the year with my savings on target (well ~£390 behind in my ISA target as I accidently withdrew £400 from one of my ISAs instead of my current account. :rotfl:) with a possible few £££s left over unless I go mad over Xmas / Jan sales! :j I slept so much better last night for finally sorting it all out!
I definitely need to work on getting my food budget under control though!

Had another great weekend with lots of skating. Hardly anyone made it to the rink on Sunday due to all the snow so the ice rink was really empty. The group classes session had 12 people in total and about the same number of coaches! (usually ~70-100 learners)
There was 2 of us in my group so lots of individual help. I passed my grade 10! :j Scarily that means I had to start trying to jump... Lets just say my three jump needs a lot of work - its more of a lurching mini hop than a jump! :rotfl: How the £$%& did I ever do a double?
There has been so much snow here its unreal! (see flying_fresian's pics - that's maybe 1.5 miles from me!) My bus ended up wheelspinning and skidding sideways on my way into work! They were threatening to stop the buses that run to my work as the nearby hill was getting increasingly scary despite frequent grittings and snowploughing so we got sent home around noon. Who knows if I'll make it in tomorrow as there is heavy snow forecast for tonight and the snow is pretty deep already...
Since I had an unexpected half day I went shopping. :rotfl: (to be fair I pass through the city centre on my way home anyway) and bought a lovely warm, long, thick cardy that I'd seen a few months ago. It was way too small then but is just right now and even better it was half price! :money: Its nicely fitted too so I makes me look curvy rather than the usual sack of spuds that big cardies usually do! :j I like going shopping now - I now fit into the larger sizes "normal" shops sell so I have so much choice instead of stuck in the plus sized stuff! I'm so not used to it! :rotfl:

How great is that, well done Taka :T:j:TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Ok, so I read this as a continuation of the bit about skating & jumps & thought your BRA had ended up wheelspinning & skidding
