Be careful if you're going to try and get to work :)

I made it to work safe and well and quicker than normal too - there was very little traffic on the roads so the bus had a clear run! :p All the main roads were thoroughly gritted so no problems at all. The snow is seriously deep near work though - its sort of piled on top of some of the walls etc and it looks to be about 18 inches deep! Crossing the road outside my work campus isn't really possible either - the snow ploughs have piled the excess snow into 2 foot deep piles in the middle of the road! :rotfl:

I also spotted more folks out with skis / snowboards too... Off to chuck themselves down Arthurs Seat I think! :rotfl:

That is one bonus of being at work in this weather, is that it's warm

I have no snow at my house, just a bit of ice this morning :)

    :p Looks nice and warm!

Today when I left the house I was sporting big clompy boots, thick socks (and other misc underwear :p), footless tights, jeans, tshirt, fleece, new cardy, wool duffle coat, gloves and one of those alpine sort of hats with tassles hanging from the ear flap bits and at the top! :rotfl: I'm convinced my Mum bought me the hat as a joke but its the warmest one I own so it was getting worn today! :p

I need to bug my parents tonight after work - hopefully they have some wellies around that will fit me. My poor boots aren't really high enough to cope with this amount of snow!

Christmas was great... now back to normality... almost another year gone by! Its gone really quickly!

I've spent half of today checking my bank accounts and trying to finalise a budget for 2011. Where did all my savings appear from? I'm sure I'm missing something! If I manage to stick to my budget I'll have almost a years salary in savings by the end of July! How did that happen? I guess if I do get made redundant in July I'll be ok for a while anyway! Yay! :D

My annual budget is coming in at...
£8210.32 (!!) - for all the boring stuff like mortgage, bills etc
    £1080 - food
£2778 - for all the more fun things like birthdays, clothes, xmas, shoes, haircuts, charity donations, nights out / entertainment etc
    £1200 - My mortgage overpayments for 2011 *
    £1800 - skating! **

Total = £15,068.32! Really have to shave that pesky £68.32 off it somewhere - its really annoying! :o :rotfl:

    * Mortgage OPs will be being lowered from £200 a month to £100 until I know if we get more funding for my job or not. The difference is being saved instead. After July it'll either go to 0 or much higher... who knows at this point!

** Scary isn't it! This does include the cost of a skating camp I'd like to go to (~£200) and a new pair of boots (~£265) as my feet seem to be shrinking along with my weight loss so I may need a smaller size before too much longer.

I started the year with a mortgage of £44914.57. I'll be around £40910.41 by the 31st of Dec so its down a smidge over £4k in a year! :j

I weighed in this morning for the last time this year I think. I've lost 5 stones 9.8lbs since early May! I've lost over 10 inches from my boobs, 10 inches from my hips, 11 inches from my waist, 5 inches from each of my thighs (!) and rather randomly 2.5 inches from my neck! :rotfl: Half of my necklaces don't fit me anymore! :rotfl:

Well done on all fronts Taka. £1800 isn't such a lot when you consider it's a hobby, it's helping you lose weight & getting you fit :j.

Savings wise you've put yourself in a great position - if you net them off against your mortgage where does that leave you?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
