    Hi La Es

I fell off the wagon a bit at the weekend too. Going through such a painful break up. I had a meltdown at work and decided to take two days off and go and stay with my Mum, but it's a £60 train fare so I haven't done very well at all!

Life's a bit bleak at the moment.

Hi Ashamed of Bristol, sorry to hear about your break up :(

I get annoyed when I need to spend so much on travel going up and down the country to visit family and friends but sometimes I find I spend more if I stay at home! Maybe your £60 train fare could be 'damage limitation'; no saying what you could've done or spent had you spent the weekend at home/shopping/out boozing etc! That's what I'm like anyway! ;)

If you're not doing much DFW stuff at the mo you could come and join us on the small things thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2535497 Everyone on there keeps everyone else on track and even when you don't feel as though you're doing anything positive you always find something you can do. :)

    Thanks La Es

I do pop in to the small things thread from timie to time. You are right. It's about time I popped back!

The damage limitation part is true too. By spending £60 on train fare I got to spend a whole weekend being fed free beans on toast from my Mum, and she even bought me a pair of shoes which should curb my urges for a few weeks!

A new month, so a new set of goals are in order. I have read "The Secret" so I'll be keeping a positive spin on them all ;)
    I WILL:
    • enter at least 5 competitions each day
    • put any coins smaller than £1 into their respective pots each day
    • put at least 1 thing up for sale (on ebay or elsewhere) each day
    • have 3 no spend days each week
    • sort out at least one box of stuff by each Sunday
    • make two more large bags
    • make myself a smaller "going out" bag
    • keep to my allowance of £100 for the month
    • put any money left over from my allowance into savings
    • get all my books out of their boxes and back up on the bookshelf where they belong
    • have a fee-free month on my overdraft
    • only buy lunch at work 4 times maximum

That money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"
