Debt Free ASAP Pledge - Join Me!!!

Hi guys!
Been lurking/posting on here for a few evenings and getting some great advice. I've decided to print off a debt free pledge as a reminder to myself of my weak areas and how to cut costs.
Wondered whether anyone else has done this, or if anyone has any comments, or would like to join me in a pledge?
Wish me luck!

Debt Free ASAP Pledge
Until my debt is paid I will not
Buy any more recipe books. I can get recipes online.
Buy any more make-up until I have used what I have
Buy any more herbs and spices until I have used what I have. I can get creative!
Buy any more craft/knitting/sewing supplies until I have used what I have
And I will
Only go to the cinema on Orange Wednesdays
Make flapjacks every Sunday instead of buying cereal bars
Each Sunday, look at the groceries I have and do a meal plan for the week
Only go grocery shopping once a week, and only buy what I need for the meal plan

Excellent idea!!
My pledges are:
1. Drive economically (who wants to drive faster than 60mph anyway?)
2. Go food shopping late at night to get the best deals
3. No more starbucks (sob!!!)
4. Never buy lunch out
5. snowball my debts and get out of the minimum payment cycle
6. keep on top of my budget
7. Keep calm when thinking about debt
I will never:
1. put something on credit...if I can't buy it on debit or cash, I can't afford it!0 -
Whoa Nelly!
Keeping calm about debt is a good one. I might pinch that!

It is, ever since I 'ripped the plaster' and worked out how much I owe, I have worried myself from a size 12-14 to a 8-10...not that I can afford the new clothes to celebrate, but every cloud has a silver lining...:)0 -

Hi everyone
Thanks for starting the thread AoB! Sounds like a great idea to me. I'll keep popping in to keep myself on track
While I'm still paying off my credit card, I will:
- take lunch to work (all but 2 days a month)
- make PADs to my cc with the cash I've saved from ^
- not visit the beautician!
- not buy any crisps, snacks or drinks at work
- read the books I've got and visit the library if I haven't got it
- update my spending diary religiously
Good luck everyone!! :beer:0 -
