There is another similar, and equally ludicrus thread on the PSBoard at the moment for discussions around Top Rated Buyers....[/QUOTE]

( perception / opinion - not to be taken as fact )
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)

Obviously it is the sellers responsibility to get the item to the buyer, but is it really fair to mark them down in the cases where postal delays are clearly evident and beyond their control?

nor is it fair to mark them down for their perception of when a delivery time should be in ( normal ) circumstances, all the more reason for making that section of the DSR rating an aoutomatic process free from perceptions and recording just the facts ( if sent by proof of postage - surely a large majority of Ebay transactions are sent this way - then the date and time will be recorded and proof that seller has done their best to conform to their own listings parameters )

    To answer the OP

If they all came out at 2.99 i would choose between B and C depending on who had the best feedback, if they both had awful feedback i would go for D and if they all had excellent feedback i would go for the non free postage one to save the seller some ebay fees!!!

Sales and service industry is all about perceptions, as the provider you can educate your customer to how they perceive your goods/service but you can't make them be satisfied, they either are or they aren't.

Once a buyer has paid for goods they don't owe you anything.

I prefer reasonable shipping charges. I like sellers to be up front, I pay what I'm willing to for the sale, and what I anticipate to be fair for P&P.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

And you think this is a realistically workable process for people selling hundreds of items per day? The scoring may well be automatic, but what about the manual processing of PoPs?

I like to keep my ebay selling slick and simple - why complicate matters further with more unneccessary processes and keypresses? Is it not complex enough as it is?

I send hundreds of items per week but via a RM business account. They collect my mail in sacks, all tracked but I never see a PoP.

Just seen a 99p BiN with this in the description
TILL THE END OF THE AUCTION IT IS NOW £5.99 P&P! ONCE ITS GONE, ITS GONE!!!!
GET IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!
    and
    FOR THE LAST 12DAYS NOW ONLY £5.99 P&P!! 2 GOOD 2 MISS!
    as a subtitle.

That raises 2 questions: 1), why are you charging £5.09 more than the postage would actually cost, and 2) How much was the P+P before this seeming "promotion"?

In answer to the OP's original question, I'd buy from the one with the highest P+P cost, just so I could slam the fee-avoiding !!!!!!!'s DSRs when it arrived, thus accelerating their removal from ebay.

I search for "cheapest price + P&P" anyway. And I always factor in the cost of the postage in the final price and view it as a whole. So if someone offered it for 99p but charged £2.00 postage, and it looked equal value to the seller doing it the other way round, I won't care. As in the end, I'm paying £2.99 for it. *shrugs* Might knock the stars if the postage is high for the person being a git over it but it wouldn't stop me from bidding.

Thats exactly what I do. I look at the overall TOTAL price for the item.

But not everyone has the same logic as I do. I actually had a buyer actually mark me down last week because my actual postage came to 30p less than I had quoted in my listing. The buyer had the choice of buying the same identical item "buy it now" for £5.99 with free postage from dozens of other sellers. Or, buying my item for 99p plus £1.99 postage. So, clearly half the price this item normally sells for. So in my opinion they got a bargain, but they clearly were not happy at the 30p "overcharge".

I do try and keep my postage accurate, but sometimes depending upon what packaging i use, and whether i print the postage off myself, or let the post office do it, there will be some variations. But, only small variations. In fact this has worked both ways and one item I posted last week actually cost me 28p more to post than id charged. But, i didnt feel the need to complain and the buyer definately didnt compliment me on how cheap my postage was (in fact cheaper than it cost).
