    may I ask if your star ratings ( DSR`s ) are healthy for p and p ?

mmmm 4.8 for p&p on the business account with free postage, 4.9 on the personal account where I charge P&P, think that answers my question too.

If the question is related to a comment I made about your DSRs on another thread then you've missed the point a bit.
In your question, most people wouldn't be too bothered paying £2.99 in whatever form, if they get the goods and the seller used a second class stamp and a second hand envelope they may not be happy paying 99p postage and certainly wouldn't paying £2 postage.
Its all about buyers' perceptions after they have paid and then when goods have been received, that's when they leave feedback and DSRs.

Unless it is a disposable/transient type of item, I rarely buy the "cheapest" - it makes me wonder why it is cheaper than others, what corners are being cut, or what am I not being told about the item or seller.

Besides, as a seller, I do not see any point in joining a race to the bottom. I prefer to buy, and sell, on value rather than cost.

I'm old and wise/cynical enough to know that you only get what you pay for.

Would you say that this a good example of how to a include postage cost breakdown within the body of the listing and other details such as the wrapping used / amount and quality of pictures / description text font etc ?

( not my listing and apologies if its a forum member )

do you have any/ seen any examples that you believe tick all the box`s as regards listing / selling an item ?

    thanks

To be honest, I dont bother reading all the gumpf at the bottom of the description.

I dont like to be told what the p&p is supposed to include. The name says it all: Postage & Packaging.

If someone is charging £2.60 for p&p, but the cost of posting is only £1 then I wouldnt be impressed, no matter how much loving care has gone into the wrapping. However, if I was charged £2.60 & the postage was £2.40 I would be happy - even if its in recycled packaging & not wrapped in tissue paper. As long as it is wrapped sufficiently.

I dont think people should include their time & petrol costs etc into the p&p price.

I found that last year, when I was sending everything free p&p my DSR's were 4.8. However this year I undercharge p&p & my DSR's are 4.9.

do you know if your buyers realise you are undercharging ? - if so how ? ( apart from DSR report ) how do you state your postage charge in the listing ? ( if at all )

I dont state anything about the costs on the listing. I just have a description of what Im selling.

I post through the post office so they can see how much I paid on the printed stamp.

would be option B for me for cashback purposes(as cashback only comes from bid price not the postage) Apart from that B C or D would make no difference

As i said burying your head in the sand. Convinced that others actions or reputations doesn't impact on you. I'm afraid in the real world they do. Why do you think DSRs were introduced part of the reason was to do with outrageous P&P and DSRs effect even you. You seem to be very myopic but thats your choice.

I stll maintain your wrong. I have read your posts on other threads and i know your never wrong bob but my application of logic just won't let me see it i'm afraid.

From the above quoted post from your good self it seems you want my poor logical thinking mind to accept the fact if other sellers load up their postage somwhere down the line it has a negative impact on my DSR ratings and possibly the amount i sell.

I'm trying to be objective and see your point of view but my brain just keeps telling me that what you have written above is nonsense.

If another seller loads up his postage it is he and not i who will get lower dsr ratings, i'll get (and do get) consistently good dsr ratings because i offer free postage.

Plus i'll appear higher in search standings than him, again this is a good thing.

Then when he drops to below standard for his low dsr rating on postage he'll drop off the radar all together, which is ever more good news for me :j

maybe you need to spell out exactly how this is having a negative effect on me bob, or maybe my logical mind is correct and you are actually just talking nonsense...:p
