As a buyer - what do you want cheap shipping or free posting ?

I have been wondering a similar sort of thing, on y personal account I charge seperately for P&P and have sold loads of things on there, on the business one I try to build in the p&p into the price so the buyer doesnt have to add this into the factor of what they want to pay, however the business account sales are just trickling very slowly and I have wondered if its because the price looks high.
I would add I charge the exact amount the postal would cost + 10p for packaging, which I think is quite reasonable, and never build into the price anything for going to the PO etc.0 -

may I ask if your star ratings ( DSR`s ) are healthy for p and p ?As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !

No its fee avoidance I have to adhere to it so do other sellers. Sellers who overcharge for postage give the rest of us a bad name. I wouldn't buy from high postage sellers out of choice but if I think the item is better or the sellers FB reads better I will. So i'm not on a crusade but if I buy from sellers with high P&P my DSR scores will reflect this, because that is what they are for to reflect my experience of the transaction
And before you say whats it got to do with me or somesuch. Sellers charging ridiculous postage to avoid fees are the reason the P&P price caps were brought in (and the famous free P&P) so these sellers have affected other sellers being able to charge actaul postage costs in some categories. So sellers overcharging postage effect everyone in the long term and the way we can all structure our listings and your burying your head in the sand if you don't think it effects you as a seller.
Firstly regarding fee avoidance, who cares? thats all i have to say on that!
i disagree my head in not buried anywhere thats why, as a seller who chooses to offer free p&p on all items i sell i can clearly see that the only way in which people overloading their p&p charges affects me is that i appear higher than them in the default search standing of best match.
all in all i'd call that a positive effect for myself, so let em do it, they are just helping me sell more and get better visability......."A wise man once told me don't argue with fools because people from a distance can't tell who is who"........0 -
Speaking as a buyer it would all depend on my motivation for buying in the first place. If I needed the item urgently then so long as the P&P wasn't outrageous I would sort by End Date then buy the item that fits the bill that I can get hold of soonest; if on the other hand I was just browsing then I might sort by price then look for free P&P.
There rules are there are no rules.

i always search by 'cheapest including p&p'
if there are two sellers whos overall price is the same, i would still buy from the one that had the cheapest p&p costs

I search for "cheapest price + P&P" anyway. And I always factor in the cost of the postage in the final price and view it as a whole. So if someone offered it for 99p but charged £2.00 postage, and it looked equal value to the seller doing it the other way round, I won't care. As in the end, I'm paying £2.99 for it. *shrugs* Might knock the stars if the postage is high for the person being a git over it but it wouldn't stop me from bidding.0

I agree with others who search for Cheapest Including P&P but I will admit I'm a sucker for free postage.
In a straight tie I'd go for free postage because for some reason I think the sellers being specially nice to me.0 -

As i said burying your head in the sand. Convinced that others actions or reputations doesn't impact on you. I'm afraid in the real world they do. Why do you think DSRs were introduced part of the reason was to do with outrageous P&P and DSRs effect even you. You seem to be very myopic but thats your choice.0 -
Seller B.
I use topcasback, so I like to get as much as I can.
However, if the seller had been smart and added on the fee difference to the freepost item then I would go for the one with the most realistic P+P.
Because that price is guaranteed, whereas any cashback is not.
Regarding how does it affect me- well, in different ways:
As a buyer it affects me because personal experience tells me that a rule breaker on one thing usually equates to a rule breaker on other things, and I'll get it late, misdescribed, details sold on, badly packed, counterfeit, etc. etc.
As a seller it affects me because ebay have to make their money somehow, and if they are not making enough then they impose stupid rules and price hikes on all of us.
Other people can sell cheaper because they break the rules. They don't last long but there's always another "moneysaver" ready to take their place.
I'd rather pay a few extra pence for years than be kicked off in weeks, but unfortunately there is so much of a entitlement instant culture that it will keep happening. (and then they come here to whinge when their accounts have been blocked.
) This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

£2.99 with free p and p (though would ask what postal service used), or £2.00, 99p p and p, providing p and p would cost around that amount!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
