Neighbours hate children!

The more you panda to her will the more fuss she will make when you do try to live a normal healthy family life in your own home, as she can see she can control you by your reaction, you have to treat her like any other bully ignore her!
So ignore her, go outside, make noise do not walk on eggshells just for her. You are doing nothing wrong, it sounds more like she's the noise hazzard not you and is getting a kick out of how she can control your families behavour.0 -
I can't believe people don't ask their children to keep the noise to a minimum and respect the neighbours anymore. When did being considerate stop happening in Britain?
People are actually blaming the neighbour for wanting peace? This used to be the norm, when did this change? Some are even suggesting goading the neighbour?
So glad I don't live near any of these people but I feel sorry for those who do.0 -
My OH wants to go around and speak to her - but she is the type of person who loves confrontation. Pleas help!:(
Then let him go round, doesn't have to be confrontational at all if he remains calm and points out that even though she dislikes children it's your house and if the children want to play then they shall , he can also point out that although the children may make a noise she makes more noise with her ranting and barking mutt!!! I really wouldn't let her get to you, I know it's easy for me to say but believe me I've been there and done it and looking back I would just let her rant and rave all she likes whilst you enjoy your children playing happily!
Good luck and I hope you feel much better soon!

THe OP is talking about a baby here not a yard full of loud mouthed kids. Kate for what its worth why not phone the council and see if there is anything you can do.
How I wish i lived near to you, and no I am not a young un out for bother, I am a 50something that thinks some people are only happy when they are making some one elses life hell.

I'd be asking for a visit from the anti social behaviour people at the council and when they visit have a chat at a garden table while the kids play outdoors!0

I agree. I would also point out that you'd asked the Environmental agency round to witness her behaviour first hand.
I can't help feeling she's acting this way simply because she can.Herman - MP for all!

I think if you have tried to be nice to them(Have you ever asked them in for a cup of tea?) and they do not want to know. Then you will just have to ignore them.If it gets really bad I would do as others have suggested and speak to the local council and explain what is happening. They might be lonely/jealous etc. or just plain batty!!Let your kids play and enjoy their childhood you sound perfectly reasonable to me.0

I think this woman is absolutely out of order. She has absolutely no say in what goes on in your house or in your garden and if you want to have every single child in the neighbourhood around then that is your prerogative.
I think your OH would be right to go around and speak to her if she is making you feel like this. He doesn't need to be confrontational but just calmly explain to this woman that she needs to stay out of your lives. Please don't let this woman get to you, you need to give her as good as she gives you. Stand your ground and do not allow your self or your children to be bullied in your own home.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0
