I have just had a call and I have been offered a credit per month of £5 to compensate for the over usage.
I told them that I do not accept this. They said that they have done all they can under the contract and are now in the right????
I thought I did not have to accept anything I am not happy with????
This is a stupid offer. If that offer is anything to go by then they may as well have not bothered introducing a £5 charge.
You do not have to accept this no. You have to be putting your request in writing to them though, I get the impression you are trying to wage war with them via telephone? Have you sent in a recorded delivery letter requesting cancellation?0 -
I'm still unsure as to what the situation is for those of us who, like me, use more than 500mb a month of data but have not received a text message. Therefore I've not written to them as officially I have nothing to write to them about - they've not informed me of anything.0

As far as I'm aware, you can just carry on as usual. Until, and unless Vodafone inform you that you're going to be charged, in which case, you should be able to cancel if the charge increases your bill by more than 10%.
And, if they don't inform you and simply apply the charges to your account, they're presumably in breach of the terms and conditions which say they have to give you 14 days notice, which also gives you the right to cancel...0 -
I guess I'll stop panicking then. I did have a period of 2 weeks this month where I used zero data as I was roaming in the USA. However all this kicked off before I left, and I'd not had a text then either..0

Vodafone have well and truly lost the plot. A friend of mine has just posted this on the eforum.
OK everyone this defies belief . Prior to my recent post about the 5GB business bundle FUP. I emailed head office asking for a deferent answer. Well I have just had some chap from Vodafone call me and ask i wanted to cancel my account. In fact he was going to give me all 3 options. However as by phone battery was almost dead I have asked him to call me back. The daft thing is I have not written to Vodafone about the 500mb data cap or asked to cancel. They have just misread my email and are now given me the option to cancel. CRAZY.0 -
The term "deadlock"
Does that mean for example Vodafone think they are not in contract breach and I think they are and never the twain shall meet?
If this is the case how do you proceed?
Ohh and the guy that offered me the £5 credit said the text I received was a mistake??? Yet I have used well over 500MB so surely that is why it came?0 -
Karatedragon, the biggest thing people found when trying to cancel but being unable to was not following the set procedure on the Vodafone forum announcement, and the key part of that was to write into them.
I really hope your letter reaches them in time and wasn't just a last minute afterthought, your written letter of cancellation is crucial and it can be a reason for them not to allow you to cancel. A lot of people are sending their letters by recorded post, I certainly did.
I would really concentrate on the letter being the way forward for you, the pen really is mightier than the sword on this issue and you'll find the majority of people who have cancelled so far have been able to do so after sending off the letter.0 -
karatedragon, yes, deadlock is when both parties have reached a point where they cannot agree. This tends to be officiated when one party send the other a letter stating they will no longer enter further correspondence on the matter, hence the deadlock. You will be very unlikely to reach that point as VF will be very unlikely to send you that letter. Follow CitySlickers advice. Get a letter to them ASAP. I think you may be trying to run ten steps ahead too quickly. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0
