I am really concerned about this.
I routinely use over 500mb - I average 800-1200mb a month.
However I've not received any communication from Vodafone whatsoever. Nothing at all.
This could be because between 1st September and 19th September I was in the USA and used no data at all, so the first time in ages I didn't go over the limit.
What can I do if they've not even informed me of any changes? Should I just continue as I am until such time that they inform me of changes which detriment me, after which I can presumably cancel?
The talk of the 1st October deadline is worrying - but theyve not said anything to me!
By their own, possibly not legally enforceable conditions, you need to write to them by midnight tomorrow to be eligible to cancel. The address is on the thread on their forum. If you live within driving distance maybe you can hand it in.0 -

Vodafone have said that you must have received the warning text. The contract says you must have increased costs by 10% in the previous month. You also have to write in before 1st October.
My text came only 7 days before the charges come in. To me breaching clause 7a of my contract.
I think it is a disgrace texting customers of such a fundamental change. They should have written to all customers on the tariff detailing the change at least thirty days prior together with the cancellation procedure.
As far as I am concerned it is a change of significant disadvantage and all this text, 10% and deadlines is a load of boooloxx0 -

Completely agree. The whole thing is terrible. I'd be fuming.0 -

If they won't agree to cancel on my first letter I will send another saying that I consider them to be in breach of contract. I will also state that payments are suspended until it is resolved.
If they try and sting me for an early termination fee they can suck my cocck for it.
Experian have told me that if the contract is in query vodafone must not report failures to pay or any defaults until it is sorted. So I won't be bullied by the "we will ruin your credit rating" old chestnut.0 -

A quick followup reply from my message to Vodafone today.
Good Afternoon xx Thanks for your email. We will be contacting all customers regarding the Out Of Bundle Charging who are able to cancel their accounts before the close of Business tomorrow. Customers who are unable to cancel will be notified in writing. I'd like to thank you for your patience. I would wait until the end of tomorrow to see what happens.
Either way for you and everyone my advice is make CERTAIN you have used OVER 500mb by tomorrow then keep doing it until you get charged, if you don't do this when they make the 10pc comparison and you have used less than 500mb they won't let you cancel.
Then wait for the charge. As soon as you get charged send a recorded letter to them, DON'T email.
I hope this helps and there will be lots of cancellations by Friday with any luck.0 -

Yes but for me I received a text message on 24 September advising of the charge.
7 (a) of the contract says they must give 14 days notice of any changes.
Are they in breach because of this?
The contract says also about to "your significant disadvantage" - surely this change is to people's significant disadvantage.0
