Completely, although some might say it is an irrational reaction, this saga and how Vodafone's staff have treated me has actually kept me awake at night. You'll probably notice some of my posts on here are at around 4am and (although on annual leave at the moment) I work normal office hours. This is the effect Vodafone have had on me.
Paradoxically, the way they have done their underhanded tricks has actually led me to tell far more people than I would have done otherwise. Instead of mentioning this in passing, I have been phoning around everyone I know to ask what network they are on and about half a dozen who said Vodafone were unaware of these changes; they are now taking steps to cancel. One of those people is a company director who is due to look at his business contracts and he said he was stunned after reading comments on forums about this matter so has ruled out Vodafone from any review he makes when his current contracts expire in November.
Had Vodafone been honest and let those of us who both wanted to go and who could go just say fine, off you go no hard feelings hope to see you back one day, I would never have made those calls. I would have posted about it online I'm sure but nowhere to the extent I have done, I would have had a gripe about it but that would be it. Because they chose an underhanded way to play this I will never be returning to them and am encouraging everyone I know to carefully consider how Vodafone treat their customers.0 -

Hehe well, that'll him them the only place they seem to care about, their wallets!
I can't match that, but I've advised two friends who have also had the £5 charge text from Vodafone. They thought they'd just have to accept the charge, and had no idea they could cancel until I told them.
I think it's very very sneaky on the part of Vodafone to just send this text without any mention in it that you could well be entitled to cancel your contract...0 -
They really have no morals at all.
As previously mentioned if you use twitter make as much noise as possible on there to @vodafoneuk @vodafoneukdeals and @jakubh (the head of web relations - who had the cheek to complain about ryanair the other day)
if you also search @vodafoneukdeals you can also let people who are considering joining vodafone know about this thread.
This is what i did and i think it was one of the reasons they allowed me to cancel my contract.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
Also might be an idea to change the thread title as this isnt specific to HTC Desire owners?TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0

Whilst I wait for my PAC code I've started tweeting. They have been a pain in the neck for me, now it's my turn.0 -
I don't use Twitter, so throw a few choice insults in for me, please!0

I don't have much time to finish this today as I have a new Twitter account, but the plan of attack I think will initially be to raise some interest by contacting individual users particularly on the deals side who are likely to be new customers. This will take a bit more work though to get a good following going so I want to dedicate a fair amount of time to getting in the right place before I start my full-on attack.0

I've posted this to a couple of people on Twitter who mentioned the charge when I searched a few minutes ago:
"You can cancel your contract if it increases your bill by more than 10%, see http://!!!!!!!/c08plp for more details"
Edit: Hmm, seems bit dot ly is blocked! Replace the !!!!! with the aforementioned URL.0 -
Got a call today from Outbound retentions, said they are going to send out my PAC code. When I queried them on charges he said I would be charged but then read my notes and said I shouldn't be charged as long as I met the conditions for the 10% increase in bill. Which I think I do but Vodafone is a law unto themselves..
Will phone to double check when the PAC code arrives before I use it.Wins:
