I read a tip somewhere to use car sponges cut in half and wear rubber gloves - then no trying to wash out messy paint pads, just chuck the sponges away. It's really fast and efficient. If I need to leave it, e.g. over night I just wrap the sponge in cling film and shove the tray in a plastic bag and it doesn't dry out.

I am so going to give that a try tomorrow - my hall needs a quick freshen up and I've got spare paint. i shall report back:D:D

  • I am following the latest events and the blog but I just wanted to check (rather than read the 'whole' thread) that I am not missing anything ie are we just up to clearing and cleaning a workable space/home and also working out our PSB or is there something else I should be pondering/doing?

Hello Memory Girl and everyone else.

I have been desperate to get back from work to catch up on this thread. Mind you the day wasn't completely wasted as we had training so I sat at the back doing mind maps.

:T:T:T thats my girl!!!! i bet you remember more of the training session as well taking your notes that way - test yourself in a couple of days :T:T:T

Blimey MG sewing dresses for drag queens. I bet they were very plain and staid with not a sparkle or feather in sight.:rotfl:

you know i haven't been in soho in - well over ten years and i still find glitter in my underwear drawers. now i wouldn't care, but these aer not the same underwear and not even the same drawers:rotfl::rotfl:

Kittikins and Crickett1234 - I would be happy to teach you both. I get very excited about sewing. Also your DD would be welcome - get them started young I say. Plus working in an antroposophical background I truly believe children should get to play and learn lots of different crafts. Have you thought about asking if your local fabric store do lessons.

my mum has photos of me standing at her sewing machine when I was about 5 - sewing some bedding for my dollies. my aunties were horrified, but my mum was pretty cool about it - she knew i was sensible and tbh at least when the machine was running she knew where i was. the younger the better as far as i'm concerned.

Off to do some cleaning now. Who would have thought we would all get domestic because a man told us too.:p

    Have a good evening all.

    P

You know - now you'v emade the man quote i feel a surge of rebellion brewing!!!!!!!!! ................. mind you he's not just a man, he's a MYSTERIOUS MAN:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Mac... see I'm busted I'm STILL on the computer :p oh and I promise my mind has/had such good intentions..I was going to blitz the house, do some more of my to do list, put away all dried clothes (I skipped the thought of ironing them :o) but unfortunately my butt seems to have a stronger will than my mind :D

MG, the younger the better, would explain my love of knitting and cross stitching and generally what my ex's mum called "old lady stuff". I like to sit and cross stitch if I have time to waste a few hours (i.e. tomorrow morning waiting for a parcel)
I would clean my poor flat, but it gets good clean every week as it's just me....so much easier. claire, the blinds, can you taken them down at all and maybe use a paste or solution of bio washing powder with a small brush, like a toothbrush or nail brush?

Erm Unfortunately I wasn't doing mind maps about the training, I was doing it for future plans.:o To be honest with all the Steiner speak (it's all very airy fairy) I wouldn't know where to start making mind maps.

  • Wow - you've been a busy busy bee. i read somewhere that if you want to move forward clear your attic because that represents your future - likewise if you need to release the past do your cellar.

I wonder which repressed part of your psyche relates to the cuboard under the stairs:rotfl::rotfl:

As for the Uganda connection - WOW :T:T:T

It never suprises me that when you ask "who do you know??" someone always does - well done you. Can we do anything to smooth the way in introducing lara?? A nice gift for his family perhaps -something british and some books perhaps???

    mg

I definitely need to move forward so I am glad the attic is done :T just not quite sure where I need to move to - yet but I am thinking about it.

I don't have a cellar so perhaps the understairs cupboard will do instead I have two and they are both in desperate need of a clear out.

They are lovely people and I am sure they will make Lara welcome I will be there myself in May but I think Lara will have finished by then.

Haven't done my list yet been reading your other threads you have come a long way and you did say 2010 was going to be your year looks like it just may well be :T

You have also inspired me to do some knitting found some lovely cream wool in my attic clear out so must go and see what free online patterns I can find. Didn't find much material and my sewing skills are very mediocre but I have thread in every colour imaginable from when my mum used to run a shop about 40 years ago :rotfl: so after knitting might have to brush up on my sewing:D

Wonder what is going to happen tomorrow!

I have told my son I have ordered your book and he has said he will read it so that's step one sorted:)
