Well if Champney's had given you a better response and, say, some vouchers, you would have mentioned that on here and they wouldn't look so bad. As it is, the bad reviews and links to unhappy customers continue to roll in. On a happier note, you have saved MSE readers lots of money as most of us wouldn't go near it with a barge pole now.

When I were a lad and eating Hovis bread whilst pushing my Penny Farthing up a cobbled street, Champneys were a health resort for the well to do. Seems like now they've diluted the name and turned into a sausage factory where there aren't enough staff because that would impact on the profit margin.

    Champneys you should be ashamed.

The only thing that could redeem you now is if you offer OP a refund and a proper apology! We know you are reading this thread

I am having trouble getting anyone to actually fully acknowledge my unhappiness about my stay let alone them offer ANY form of refund... but hey they dont care do they, its not them who has put a couple of pound away each month for the last year to pay for one crap night in their motel!!!

Well I will just be happy to take the knowledge that i have saved other people from wasting their money as I know how we all build up to extra special little breaks like this and it really saddens me when things arent as nice as you expect

I am disappointed for you, it's amazing how many companies treat their customers with so little respect. I've had the same problems with Cross-country Trains and Thomas Cook... they don't feel the need to read your letter, think that a copied and pasted generic letter will suffice and don't want to do anything to put it right. How deluded!

I would write again specifically asking for a refund/compensation and see how you get on.

    Are you actually for real?
I have only visited Forest Mere twice, once for the day and the other over a weekend and I enjoyed myself. I incured a couple of problems with my stay, like all other hotels, there is always something to have a winge about but not to the degree that you listed out point by point. I have to say that if in 'quote 13' it was really that cold for you then you maybe should have asked to have the door closed, i'm guessing you were the only one though to have the problem.... The critisisum you made about KABURNETT was frankly laughable as she can spell THALASSOTHERAPY. Look on paperwork or a dictionary you could spell it too!
I suggest that for the everyday mum and wife looking for time out from kids and ASDA it serves its purpose, relaxed and affordable.
Before you continue to ridicule the place maybe your comments will better be served going to their management rather then posted on here, you may end up getting something for it!!!

OH and just to say before your comments moan I work for Forest Mere, i actually work for a storage company in Portsmouth currently on maternity leave.

I suggest to go to Forest Mere if you havent been, to make up your own mind before listening to people who clearly havent got anything better to do with themselves.

    Of course you are :rotfl::rotfl:

You're trying too hard - I've been and I agree with the OP. :)

It may be affordable, but what's the point of being able to afford something when you're going to get such ignorant customer service?

I think most people reading this thread will in future avoid this place like the plague (and rightly so).

The ironic thing is that Champneys could have sorted this out so quickly and with none of this antagonism. Anyone with just an ounce of customer care could have placated this customer in minutes.

I've worked in customer services for years - and if ANY customer of mine ever felt the need to start a internet thread on the way their complaint had been handled, I'd be ashamed.

Perhaps it's time Champney's Customer Services department were sent on some customer care training and about time the staff woke up and understood that their reputation and their jobs depend on the very people that they seem to be holding in such derision.

Personally, what I would do is..... print out this thread and send it to the CEO of the company.

I wonder if that might give them a bit of a kick up the ............

I really don't think the CEO gives a monkeys. Judging by the reviews on other forums the complaints about the uncleared plates, towels, robes and complimentary drinks seem commonplace.

They must have had plenty of complaints, yet the fact that they allow it to continue, and the response to the complaint shows that they really don't have a clue and don't care. The cause of the problems are management issues. They are the ones who can authorise the extra staff to clear away, new towels and robes etc etc but the fact that they choose not to shows their real attitude to their customers.
