I was disappointed to read of a members bad experience at the hands of the Forest Mere Helath Farm.
I was there 2 weeks ago and as usual my experience was wonderful. I always 'buy' the cheapest room because i prefer to spend on the treatments. This time my room was delightful and as usual the treatments devine. As a full time worker and a tiring family its great to get away from it all and spoil myself and this time i tempted my firends to join me and they have booked again for the Autumn. As a first time break to a Health Spa i dont think Forest Mere can be faulted. Other Spa's i felt have a air of making me feel i shouldnt be there because i dont wreak of money or status.
The Body Bliss treatment and Thalassotherapy pool are my favourites. I'm going again for a friends birthday in 2 weeks just for the day and i'm hoping this will giver her a taster for a longer trip next time. I urge the unsatisfied guest to call or write to Forest Mere and ask for Mavis (i think she is in Guest Liason) when i did have a problem before she made it better and has looked after me since.. i'm sure she will look into the problems and make sure they dont happen again.
Good luck.. i certainly will be goinjg back...as often as possible!

I am amazed by how many companies try this tactic on MSE! They must think we are all stupid. I'm frankly insulted at this pathetic half assed attempt at a fake review. What I would respect far more is a representative of whatever company has had a bad review posting an official response/explanation on the forums.

I appreciate that several companies already do this already but why can't more follow suit? If companies who get a bad review on here actually read the forums instead of posting nonsense, they would realise spammers are outed in about 5 seconds by the other posters, why do they waste their time?

I have only visited Forest Mere twice, once for the day and the other over a weekend and I enjoyed myself. I incured a couple of problems with my stay, like all other hotels, there is always something to have a winge about but not to the degree that you listed out point by point. I have to say that if in 'quote 13' it was really that cold for you then you maybe should have asked to have the door closed, i'm guessing you were the only one though to have the problem.... The critisisum you made about KABURNETT was frankly laughable as she can spell THALASSOTHERAPY. Look on paperwork or a dictionary you could spell it too!
I suggest that for the everyday mum and wife looking for time out from kids and ASDA it serves its purpose, relaxed and affordable.
Before you continue to ridicule the place maybe your comments will better be served going to their management rather then posted on here, you may end up getting something for it!!!

OH and just to say before your comments moan I work for Forest Mere, i actually work for a storage company in Portsmouth currently on maternity leave.

I suggest to go to Forest Mere if you havent been, to make up your own mind before listening to people who clearly havent got anything better to do with themselves.

So it's not ok to post a negative review as people "haven't got anything better to do with themselves" but posting a good review is presumably acceptable?

The thing is posters are quite rightly VERY suspicious of one time posters (like yourself), coming onto a thread to defend a company they insist they don't work for. Are we meant to believe that you just happened to join MSE today just to post a good review of a company you have no connection with? There are always one time posters who praise companies, get stroppy when people suggest they are spammers and then they are never heard from again.

So in that respect you can't blame people for thinking one time posters are spammers as they nearly always are in these cases and people on the forums get fed up with it. If you are a indeed guenine poster then welcome to the forums, hopefully you can contribute to other threads and not just disappear after today. :)

How do new posters even find these threads unless they have been tipped off? Are they just casually googling and come across them?

The fact is, readers pf MSE are going to give more credit to a praise/vent post from a long-time MSE'er than from two new posters who have registered today for, seemingly, the sole purpose of praising a company.

Look on paperwork or a dictionary and you could spell criticism as well. It's very, very strange that someone who can't be bothered to use the shift key would go to the effort to look up that word, rather than just have a shot at it. Also why capitalise "Body Bliss"?

Please don't try and play the dyslexic card with this comment, it's a PC and even my spell checker is telling me to change critisisum to criticism.

I'll address this post first... I have addressed my concerns with the manager and although she read my complaint yesterday morning she has not yet replied.

I too think its pretty sad when personnel feel the need to post fake praise rather than just address the issues.. Whether your fake or not who knows and tbh I dont really care, as it does not change my complaint or experience in any way??

Like others have said all it does is draw attention to the thread :rotfl:

First of all "miss fake no 2" who the hell are you to tell me that I am "whinging"?? If you were a real hectic mummy, like I am, you would know how precious one night away is from your husband and children.

It cost me alot of money to visit Champneys and to spend my time clearing up after others, drinking out of disgusting china and attempting to relax in what felt like sub zero temperatures... I have every bloody right to complain.

:T Do you really think I should have asked someone about shutting a few doors, well darn why on earth did I not think of that :rotfl::rotfl:

I shut several doors and asked for several doors to be shut AND suprisingly watched others do the same.. After a while when paying several hundred pounds I decided I would rather try and enjoy what time I had there!!! Whats HILARIOUS is the fact that you have a touch of telepathy OR you were on shift that night to know "I was the only one who felt that way!"

Get your facts straight I did not criticise another poster and if your directing your comment to someone else then I suggest you make that clear.

It is a shame you never took the time to consult a dictionary.......

    Ridicule-
Words or actions intended to evoke contemptuous laughter at or feelings toward a person or thing

Hmmmm do not believe thats what I am attempting to do... I am giving feedback on a break I had to let others know so they do not waste their money, this is after all a money saving forum is it not???

IF you had bothered to read my post you would see that I HAVE addressed my issues with management but that has no bearing on me wanting to inform fellow posters a way of saving their cash by not wasting it at Champneys!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, I shop at Sainsburys not Asda :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i have been to several champneys resorts, and have always found them fantastic (i am not a new poster, please check my previous posts)

I am sure problems occur in any business, i have encountered wet towels in the changing rooms for instance,i just tell a member of staff, and they are cleared away.

I have always found the therapists to be proffessional, and i could not fault any treatment that i have had.
Like any business, they will try to sell you products, once i tell them,i won`t be buying any, they forget the spiel.
I save up hard for my stays, and cannot afford extras.i have found visiting champneys to be essential to my health, both physical and mental, but everyone makes different choices, and this is how i choose to spend my hard earned money

the rooms that i have stayed in were amazing, very clean etc...and i love the robes!!

I am sorry that you had a bad time,i hope someone from Champneys contacts you...did you complain at the time?
again,i have always found that the staff bend over backwards to help

I think the real question is ARE YOU FOR REAL?

What type of car do you drive? Why haven't you written a glowing review in the motoring section?

What supermarket do you shop in? Why haven't you contributed to any of the hundreds of threads complaining about supermarkets?

Where do you enjoy going on holiday? Why haven't you written about your experiences in the holidays section.

You just happen to join today, to counter a negative review by a customer.

Where is the collect & build HMS Victory thread when you need it (with rogerthecabinboy, 64 guns, jack aubery et al)

    Hi Righter,

I have actually stayed with Champneys 4 times in the last 6 years. The first two occasions were great, but I have to admit I had nothing to compare it to at the time.

The third time, like you I had a few gripes that I aired and although they were dealt with I was still a little disappointed.

The reason I went again to be quite honest was because I booked the bring a friend for free deal and weighed up the pros and cons and thought that it would still be good value for money. After this visit however I no longer feel this is the case.

Just to remind people i am only talking about Forest Mere, i have never visited any of the other sites so cannot comment.

The points I have raised are just that, my thoughts and therefore do not hold a grudge against any one elses opinions, I am really pleased for those that have enjoyed their stay, we all have different expectations

I did complain about the doors and the mess at the time, but only fleetingly as to be honest i was soooo embarrassed in front of my guest i tried to play it down and knew it was something i would want to deal with privately when i returned home. You have to remember i was only there for 24 hours
