I am a Birkenstock babe! My friend buys me one or two pairs in Germany every autumn & they last indefinitely. (PM for details if anyone wants to know)

Fortunately OH says that high shoes remind him of donkeys being led along, so he has no problem with my bare foot/birkenstock/winter boots existance. Although at 18 i could walk for miles in 4inch heels, every one did as far as i can remember.

I have no problem with anyone else supporting the economy in this way but its not for me. I particularly hate that hard skin they get on the back of the heal, like dogs dew claws. Nope, definitely not for me.
....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life

i love shoes and i'm not ashamed to admit it. i can't claim to have near 80 pairs, but if i had the money i would. i do have incredible amounts of shoes and bags. most i buy in sales, but some i buy full price if i can afford it. there are a pair of red or dead heels wth matching bag in schuh that i want but together it costs £125 so they'll have to wait.

and i totally agree with her saying they make you feel sexy and confident. i think there is nothing sexier than a nice pair of heels that click as you walk. in fact i nipped to the post office with ebay sales today in my boots just so i could click, and sure enough i felt good about myself.

I love shoes too (not got 80 pairs though). I don't think she needs a slap....it's her money after all.

To those posters who said they only had a few pairs which had lasted years......Phew! Stinky!!!!

Have always loved shoes and bags,it's not a 'girl' thing,it's personal choice.

If you have the money, spend it on what you like

When I used to work in the City, you HAD to have the best designer stuff (So sad:o )-now I've got kids my priorities have changed and I no longer yearn for them (although do have fave pair of Jimmy Choos lurking in wardrobe-3 years old and still look beauuutiful!

Yep, I'm a shoes and bags girl too I'm afraid, but in true DFW stylee I got 2 pairs of free flipflops (one from a magazine I bought - okay so not strictly DFW - and one from a magazine my Mum bought that didn't fit her), also got 2 free pairs of very funky sandals from my sister in law who had bought them but found them uncomfortable (too high for her, but perfect for me!). Total spend on summer shoes this year £1.70 (for the magazine)!

Or if you are me, going over on your ankles and limping about or having that red pain feeling in the heels from the stilletoes. Ive flogged all but 2 pairs of my heels now, just cant be mithered with them, I walk so slow in heels :rotfl:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
