Well I'm neither vapid or airheaded. Studying as a mature student for a degree right now and bringin up 2 littlieson my own as well. I love shoes and bags as well!!!!
I have about 45 pairs of shoes, 4 radley bags, 1 Gucci bag and numerous others. I get mine on Ebay and in sales and most of them are now over 2 years old - Can't afford them while I'm studying - lol. Mine don't stink though!!! I take care of them. My favourites are a pair of knee high Nine West boots I got in the Debenhams sale for about £75 about 4 years ago. They've been reheeled, re-soled, re-sipped and stitched up again. They are my Winter staple - lol
But they are like a collection!!! I get them out, clean them all, check to see if repairs are needed and generally prance around in them -lol. It's like Poole pottery - I collect that as well - the dinky little round vases are sooo cute.
My other addiction is books. I have 3 enormous bookcases in my living room, currently double stacked, plus 6 shelves I put up by my fireplace. I usually have 2-3 on the go at anyone time and that's not counting the textbooks I'm using at the mo for HR revision.
Just cos I love shoes doesn't make me an anti-feminist!!! It's my right to buy what and when I like, if I can afford it.Noli nothis permittere te terere

yup, don't see a problem either as she appears to actually save up for them.I feel that sort of obsession is down to a lack of self image...the shoes seem to be a form of self worth. But I wish i had saved before buying useless things and then I wouldn't be on here!"grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"

I think its the blatant consumerism that I object to the most. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Awwww - I wish I had a bf like you.
My dirty secret is that I go into Selfrisges and try on the Jimmy Choos there :rotfl: :rotfl: No intention of buying but I just have to remind myself that they are too uncomfortable and high to wear, no matter how pretty they look.Noli nothis permittere te terere

I have one bag i use all the time and 2 pairs of shoes at one time that I alternate use of, both black courts :rotfl:
When one pair wears out I buy a new pair, I never pay over £10 for a pair and I use my bags until the strap breaks and never pay over £10 for that either.
Just not a bag/shoe/fasion person I guessOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 126 :j

Now you see that's just false economy. What you do is buy 2 pairs of really good quality shoes and get them fixed when they wear out. The initial outlay of £40-50 per pair will soon be saved by repairs at £4-5 every 6 months instead of £10 for a new pair. Just don't go somewhere like Timsons to get them fixed, extortionate !!!!!!s. An independant cobbler will give a better repair and a fairer price. I'm on first name terms with mine now and he does really tricky repairs that others have said were impossible.
OMG- I really am a shoe person aren't I??:eek:Noli nothis permittere te terere
