Thanks Kelinik, yes, everything is sort of ticking along nicely at the moment. I'm getting a bit of pain from the SPD but I'm coping with it quite well, and the sickness seems to be a distant memory now. How's everything with you?

Just thought I would do a quick update, as I haven't done one recently!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant, so only 10 weeks to go, I can't believe how fast it has flown by, but I think it will start to drag a bit now, and especially once my maternity leave starts in 4 weeks time.

The baby fund is looking a bit depleted at the moment, as we have bought pretty much everything we should need now. We decided in the end to buy a sprung mattress for the cot bed, which is a bit more expensive, but will last a lot longer hopefully. That cost £56 from Argos. We have also spent quite a bit on bedding, unfortunately there isn't a lot of choice in 'cot bed' size, so we have had to spend £34, but my Mum is going to adapt a king size sheet to make two fitted sheets, so at least I don't need to buy those.

We also now have a car seat (£35 from Argos) which is a 0/1, which I think means it will last from birth to about age 4. It seems to be decent quality (just as good as some of the ones which are twice the price or more) and very comfy. We have a buggy, which came complete with cosy-toes, rain hood and changing bag, and we now have pretty much everything we will need as far as clothes go.

Including various other little bits and pieces that we have bought, our total baby spend so far is £329. So we have about £86 remaining in the baby fund account. We still need re-useable nappies but I've been advised to wait until after the baby is born before I buy these, to make sure I choose ones that will be a good fit. So it will be disposeables for the first couple of weeks at least.

I've had some blood tests done today (just the usual pregnancy ones), and even though it didn't hurt, and they only took a tiny bit of blood, I feel dizzy and sick (I'm a complete wuss), so I'm relaxing and studiously ignoring the housework all day. I'm not at work today or tomorrow (they're my usual days off), so I'm putting everything off and will tackle it in the morning lol!

Oh, if anyone thinks of anything I will need that I haven't mentioned, please DO say, as no doubt there will be something major that I've forgotten about lol! :D

Well, I'm finally an embarrassing parent....!

DS has come home from school today and told me he got into an argument with his mate, who apparently has been teasing him because his Mummy is so fat.

I laughed at first, but DS is really quite upset. :(

Poor little thing, I've promised I will be less embarrassing and much less 'fat' in two months time when the baby is born lol. :o

Yes, I really am very excited, when I was pregnant with DS I was so daunted and freaked out that I didn't enjoy the pregnancy at all, but this time, I'm loving it and can't wait to meet my little girl. :)

I think I'm ready...but no doubt I will have forgotten something really obvious! Will definitely bear freecycle in mind - I've already joined up just in case. I need to offer something first before I'm a full member, but with the endless stuff we have in the loft, plus a working washing machine in the shed that we intended to give away or take to the tip ages ago, that shouldn't be a problem!

i didnt know you knew it was a girl (must've been missing posts somewhere) have you picked any names?

Yes, she's going to be called Natasha Grace - we decided to find out the sex and give her a name when we realised my Gran was deteriorating quickly (she died of cancer in January) and wasn't going to be here when she was born - we gave her the scan picture though and discussed the name with her, and she really liked it, so it's settled!

I was devastated about losing my Gran, but I've recently been dreaming that she visits us and puts her hand on my bump, and I wake up feeling sort of safe and calm......that probably sounds strange.....:o
