Thats a lovely name Snaggles - wish I'd have thought of that one.

It isn't strange at all about feeling your Gran - when I had Sam my Great Grandma was 102 and so as soon as I came out of hospital we went to see her with Sam - she died 16 days later - I think she just hung on to see him and I still think to this day shes looking over him - so I do believe your Gran is watching over your little one and its lovely to think she is. It must have been so hard losing her whilst you were pregnant and its a beautiful thought to name your baby whilst she was still here., Oh, got a lump in my throat now.

I hope you're not induced again - it isn't nice is it? So make sure you do all the things you need to do IYKWIM - its so exciting - another DFW baby - make me feel all broody xxx

No, it wasn't very nice....I mean, it wasn't terrible, but it just seemed a bit clinical, and I felt frustrated that my stupid body couldn't do what it was designed to do....but I know they can't leave it in there indefinitely lol!

I would love to give birth at home actually, but I don't think they will want me to, plus it's a bit messy I would think hahaha!

I'm glad to hear things are going well snaggles, you seem to be really organised and sorted with everything you need. I think a home birth sounds lovely, definitely not clinical! I meant to ask you actually, about how you've found the service from midwives etc during your pregnancy? Obviously I'm thinking about midwifery at the moment and I've read so much about the shortage of midwifes and problems with not seeing the same midwife twice etc, just wondered what you thought if you don't mind me asking?

    Hope you're well!

Just cannot believe you are 30 weeks already & that you are just so organised.
My gran died when I was pregnant with DS (Now 13-eek!!) & I often think she is looking down on us & shaking her head at the pickles I get into again & again.
Take care.Love the name by the way

Hi Kath, yes, feeling pretty well thanks, although I have had contractions all day! (Braxton Hicks ones I presume, as they only hurt a little bit and are not regular or getting more frequent....in fact they are easing off now thank goodness)

It's funny you should say that about not seeing the same midwife twice - I have only met my actual midwife twice, the rest of the time I seem to have had appointments when she is either on holiday, or off sick.....maybe she's just avoiding me?! Everyone I've seen has been lovely though, so I haven't minded. I think if I was having a difficult pregnancy, or if it was my first, I would be more bothered maybe.

How is everything with you? Good I hope?

Thanks beanielou, I can hardly believe it either! I don't really feel organised, because we are still part way through decorating and the whole house is upside down lol!

I'm glad you feel like your Gran is still watching over you....I'm sure if mine is looking down she will be chuckling at me a lot too, as I've been so scatterbrained recently!

I'm glad you've had good experiences snaggles, I think (hope) its a case of the worst situations get the publicity when they're only a minority.

I'm ok thank you, am definitely going to be applying for midwifery, decision made!! :rotfl: Just working the mindless job for another few months to save up enough (hopefully) to enjoy my time in america and pay for an OU course i've got my eye on when I come home. Looks fascinating... all about health and social care... and it'll ease me back into studying :o

I'm glad you've made the decision to apply for the midwifery course - I would have you as my midwife in a second! The OU course sounds interesting, I'd love to do something like that. I did French at university, and I don't use it at all, apart from on holiday lol!

I think you are right about the bad publicity that midwives sometimes get - it's only the tiny minority of people that have problems, but those are the ones that make it into the newspapers. I imagine it's a really rewarding job, I know I couldn't do it (too squeamish) but I have the greatest admiration for anyone that does.

When do you go to America? Can I come hehehe?!
