Got the hot water back so I spent the night almost swimming in the bath, with a generous slug of radox in it
I'm sorting the hair stash today - have a whole shelf full of stuff. Going to mix together all the bits of shampoo or conditioner into 2 big bottles (except for the Aussie stuff which is a miracle for my moisture starved hair).
May try and get onto the varnishes later and have a PYNS (see, starting to pick up the lingo) :rotfl:2011

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie to here but thought I'd introduce myself and say hello! I must say I am impressed with the willpower people are showing on here to get through their stashes. I'm just as bad: I have a CRATE...FULL of toiletries (see the link to get a handle of the size of it!) (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40013473) as well as an underbed storage box full of them. Working for Lush for a while and getting the 50% employee discount didn't help matters, and neither did the huge discount on gift sets in boots after Christmas....
Anyway, I am determined to join you guys and get through the stuff, not only to save money, but to make some chuffin' space!
Good luck guys, keep it up!
p.s. one of the things i'm doing to help with the temptation of getting new things is just to take advantage of every truly free (no purchase required) sample I can find - that way, I feel I'm taming the addiction a bit but not spending any money or adding to space issues (they're just little packets). Will let you know if I see any good'uns!0 -
Afternoon,
I hope you're all using this hot weather to your advantage - slapping on the suncream & moisturisers with SPF in them!
I'm using a small Clinique superdefence with SPF 25... so far so good, it hasn't made my skin react which is unusual! But is SPF25 high enough? I'm not sure. I won't be sitting in the sun anyway, just out running errands so will mainly be indoors.
I've also stopped wearing foundation for the past week:eek: So my blotchy face is on show to the world... terrifying, considering I have worn foundation everyday since I was 16. But tbh I actually feel better, my skin looks much fresher. I found that my skin was getting drier and drier of late, and the mineral foundation looked awful on top of the scabbinessSo I'm keeping away from it... for now.

I can't believe how many bags of moisturiser type stuff I created though. I was given the Ted baker set for christmas which had a really big washbag and I filled that. I've only got 3 things left in it now though and some of them are open.
I'm on my lunch atm and I can't wait to get home and have a nice bath, I feel really sticky. Thank goodness for air con!

Hey everyone!
I have another use up to report. It was a bar of the Oliva soap from H&B that was 89p that I bought in Autumn. WIBA? Most likely, it's a steal for the price and is very slicky -- it made very good shaving soap and would make good hand soap as well. I had been using it in place of body wash. It wasn't as moisturizing as I was hoping, but I have very dry skin everywhere but my face. Bottom line is that it's a very simple soap, didn't react funny to my fussy skin and was very versatile!
I'm very very close to using up my Burt's Bees Radiance Eye Cream. It probably won't last another 3-5 days. I'm thinking about using either some of the grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil I have lurking in the cupboards as a replacement for it. Can anyone comment on which one might be better for the eye area?
Also, today has been the first day that I've used my fresh moisturiser acquisition from the BS sale. I used the Carrot Moisturiser on top of some Green People OY Face the Sun SPF 15 suncream. My face feels nice and moisturised and not slicky, which is impressive given the weather! I was worried that it would be too heavy to be a day moisturiser but so far so good.March win: Fair Squared organic spa skincare set

I moisturised half my face with the carrot one, and the other half with the gold older womens one this morning(both body shop!!) - didnt like either of them much, so Im glad they are mums !!!
used up my Catch a Wrinkle in Time last night - :j WIBA?? no, but only cos i prefer the benefits Dr John one.
have also a small confession - I bought Marie Claire tonight, Id resisted up to today cos i dont like the mango bb and didnt like the look of the shea butter one (didnt like the brazil nut one at all, and the shea butter one is in a brown pot too) but the issue of MC in the tesco i was in had the Love etc bb, and as thats the new flavour....
magazine is a load of tripe though - are they ALL more advert than content these days???Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Use-up Update:
Boots Sensuous bubblebath in Rose wiba? No, it's discontinued I think!nice rose smell, lots of bubbles but heavy glass bottle (now in recycling bag) & poor value for money. It was great as a gift.
Tesco value spray deo: wiba? probably. Excellent value, lasts a long time, works well just smells depressingly budget - I can live with that!
Should finish the mandarin bog standard Boots shower gel any day now - only 4 more to go before we start the branded stuff.
Fell from grace a bit as I managed to find one of the reduced Imperial Leather handwashes - Green Tea. (WHY was I looking in the first place?). Serves me right, it smells nasty so not worth even the 75p I paid!

I love Rose smells and Boots have recently started doing a Rose bubble bath in their Therapy range. It's only £1.49 and the Therapy stuff is often 2 for £1.50 or 2 for £2. I absolutely love this stuff, so much that I've stopped getting bored and buying a new one every time in search for the perfect bubble bath!0 -

I'll look out for it ...but only after I've finished up all the 8? 9? bottles that are in the cupboard

While tidying up kitchen drawer I found a Boots vanilla hand and body lotion and a peppermint foot treatment tub from BS lurking in it  . Slopped loads of mint cream on feet - they are like sandpaper from walking dog over beach twice a day.:D Also found a Botanics Icy body gel, thats got to be 4 years old (like the body scrub), smelled vile so threw it straight into bin.
BTW as a newbie to this thread, can I ask if the idea is I should always use up the opened stuff first, or is it ok to open a new bottle if it looks fab, but then have another one on the 'use up' list? Does it matter so long as I do not buy anything else?? Thanks x2011
