no use ups to report, though Im going to bin my after sun - its hundreds of years old, and looked it when i poured it out!!!
definately lower down lots of things though - and the shampoos and things i took with me are spluttering, but as they were old mini bottles that I refilled with other, it doesnt really count as use ups !!!

Quick question for everyone - i do seem to have an abundance of body lotion - does anyone have any alternative uses for it - would it make an intensive hair treatment for example?
I asked this very question at the beginning of the challenge as I had loads of it, lots of it not very effective stuff from gift sets. I thought about hair conditioning and did actually try it. I would so a big NO, don't use it for that. It wouldn't rinse out and left my hair very dull and heavy. Horrid effect. I also tried addiong it to hand wash and didn't really like that either.
It's OK to use for shaving your legs though. I also mix it with salt or sugar and use it as a body/foot scrub. You can use up quite a lot this way!!
I find lotions much easier to use in the summer, they're just too cold and wet in the cold winter months. I'm just gritting my teeth and trying to get through them basically! Gave a few cheapie ones to the charity shop! I keep one by the bed to use as a light hand cream, when I don't use my intensive one.0 -

I have been trying to remember to use mine every night as foot cream, and as hand cream. Also, I'm determined to work my way through the half-finished bottles, and travel sized ones, to vary it a bit as well as finish things quicker.
I personally wouldn't use it on my hair, as its often a bit oily, but for dry or damaged hair, I imagine that it would be no problem to use it as a hair treatment so long as you washed it out well.
I agree, this is the product that I have had tons of too. I think the best thing is just go through them all. During the summer, I get dry skin on my body, so I put a generous amount on - that soon uses it upProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW Member 1205!LBM Aug 2006 - Debt £35K. Debt: JAN 2020: £0!!

Oooh L1977, wow congrats!mineallmine wrote: »LiR done the test and hair broke/snapped very easily - so protein products then? like keratin - which is in one of my shampoos i know.
PS just checked, am using ultra cheap asda anti dandruff shampoo at mo.....
I'll hop over to the June thread in a moment, but just wanted to say I really recommend Tigi Dumb Blonde Reconstructor - it's a protein conditioner, quite expensive, but comes in big bottles, and lasts ages, so really good value for money.
I have highlighted hair, which can get dry, and this is definitely the best conditioner I have ever used on it - my hair already feels worse (more dry and brittle, much lessy smooth and shiny) since I ran out and am using up other conditioners, but I'll be going back soon, yay!0 -

As I had to have a clean up of my shampoo drawer due to a spillage, I've had a recount of what I've got. The following is the list I posted in May when I started the challenge and I've added in purple the current count.
Sunsilk Deeply Brunette x 3 (x 2)
Herbal Essences x 3 (x 4 + one on the go) I haven't bought any of this since May, I must have discovered some hidden away at some point that wasn't on my radar when I did my first count!
[STRIKE]John Frieda x 1 [/STRIKE]
Avon x 1 (part used)
Pantene x 1 (part used)
Tresemme x 1 (part used)
Charles Worthington x 1 (now half empty due to spillage!:()
Pantene Aqua Light x 1
Lee Stafford Blinding Brunette x 1
Pantene Aqua Light (mini) x 1 (Freebie, part used)
30 ml miniature from hotel (Freebie)
Various sachets (Freebies)
I knew I'd been a bit naughty recently with buying a couple of bottles when they've been on offer but this is a wakeup call that I really DO NOT need to buy any more shampoo! I'll post again when I've checked the conditioner stash.0
