Triker this has really had me giggling!!!!

When you've finished fiddling with the editor maybe you could post your SOA!!!!

As for the nits - look on the bright side - if you don't get rid of them, with all that tea tree oil, conditioner, aloe vera, hair spray etc they'll be able to win 'Miss Nit 2006' - maybe the prize money will be enough to clear your debts?:T :T

Seriously, keep your chin up, you've got a lot going for you and we're here to help.

    Welcome!

    Well worth doing, Triker.
We had to apply for an extension to our mortgage lately to pay for some home improvements so I had to list all incomings and outgoings for the Building Society. I dutifully wrote everything down, going through the bank statement on the account which holds all our DD's and SO's, and I could explain everything apart from a small payment to Norwich union for £15.75 which I couldn't figure out at all. Phoned bank who gave me NU's phone number and the policy number and it turned out to be a mortgage insurance (in event of redundancy etc) held on the flat we sold 4 years ago!!!

Horrified, I realised I had been paying this for 48 months when it was useless - even if DH had been made redundant it would not have paid out a penny as it did not relate to the mortgage on our present house!

On the bright side NU simply told me to get a letter from the Woolwich (mortgage holder at time) stating the exact date when this mortgage ceased to be and we would get all 48 months reimbursed....so am currently waiting for a cheque for around £750 to arrive...:D :D

Triker, I have read through the entire thread and despite you feeling incredibly low, you have a wicked sense of humour:D

I think it's amazing that you can keep laughing despite all of your woes, so keep it up and I hope it all gets better for you.

May I suggest you check out https://www.flylady.net
I know people knock it but it has really helped me. I would never seem to have enough time in the day, house was such a mess that unexpected visitors were kept on the doorstep as i was to embarrassed to invite them in. My finances were in a mess because i never got around to paying bills on time so kept getting late payment charges. And my weight was going up and up because i dealt with the stress by stuffing my face.

Give it ago for at least a month, its works believe me.
FlyLady was brilliant when I was at home all day. Now I'm working full time I can't physically fit in all the stuff that she sugggests.

Anyone know of a FlyLady for full time workers??

Love your thread, It made me laugh so much! I have seen it every time I log on but avoided reading it cos it's quite a few pages long and i'm supposed to be writing a disertation as we speak so trying in vain to limit my time in MSE. But today it just had to be done (avoidance tactics I think they call it!)

I too have had years of nit problems with 2 DD's. Perseverance is the only answer. Also bare in mind that when they turn into teenagers you then have to deal with boyfriends, MSN, sex, drugs, alcohol not to mention attitude and hormones!! BRING BACK THE NITS!!

I also have had tears of weight problems - joined WW again for the billionth time 2 months ago. Joined with my OH for support - he has lost 2 stone to my 10lbs!

I can't advise about money cos I'm a bit new to all of this. Apart from passing on one piece of advice I have been given - If you are on this site you are not spensing money!

Anyway must go cos my OH has taken the kids out so I can do some work and I've spent the last 30 min reading this thread!

    Good luck.

Apologies for not posting for a bit, I have to be frank it's all gone to sh@t, my lovely hubby is in hospital and I have been literally scraping the barrel to find the money for fuel, hospital parking charges and general just getting by ness.AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH and breathe.

Jer know, its times like these when I feel like falling to my knees, arms outstretched shouting 'why me' but I 'spect the looks I'd get in Asda would finish me off.

Anyway there'll be no SOA for a bit, can't get my head round it at the mo.

Thanks for your lovely messages and despite this new and 'orrible setback I do find these boards uplifting and am continuing in my usual nightly routine of mebbe having a little tipple (sometimes) and reading through the posts.

    Cheers for now Triker.

So sorry to hear about hubby, Triker. Hope he gets well very soon.
Meantime, keep on checking in here if only to let off steam.
You are an inspiration, keeping any sense of humour at all right now.
    Good Luck
