One is a large tin of Duck in Fat, the other I am unable to translate it's Melange de Canard confit pour Fricassee. Any ideas what I can do with either of these? I hate to waste stuff.

I think melange is just a mixture, confit is a type of preserve, and the bbc website says that a fricassee is anything cooked in a white creamy sauce. There's a link to a couple of fricassee recipes on their website0 -
I was luckily enough to get rid of the only thing I wouldn't use just before the summer fete, it was a jar of honey and mustard chicken tonight ughhhhhhhhh disgusting stuff, We got a letter home from school saying they were having a mufty day and instead of money, a jar or tin of food for the tombola , I hope whoever got it enjoyed it LOL

But I confess I sometimes have phases of buying low-fat stuff like quark, skimmed milk, low-fat yogurt and low-fat spray oil thingys - they stay in the fridge a week and then get binned:o Wasteful I know but tasteless too.
Oooo...we slimming world addicts use that stuff all the time! There are some recipes that involve quark in the 'Losing Weight Recipes' thread. I like the malteser freezer recipe but i just chill rather than freeze it.
Bear in mind that I'd much rather eat a vat of real ice cream cause it tastes better but the quark/yogurt mixture is alot lower in calories and i'm willing to accept lesser quality substitutes to get the lbs off!
We also used the low fat spray (or fry light) for everything that includes frying and roasting. Takes a little while to get used to but is, again, much healthier than frying in tblspn of olive oil!
All the stuff in my cupboards that i don't want to use are things that would be bad for the diet, not to mention the 20 or so cadbury's creme eggs that the OH bought cause 'they're only 10pence each in the after easter sale'0 -
Pulses and beans.
I intend to make soups with them when the weather is cooler in the slow cooker.

Make fishcakes with them! You would never know that were once pilchards once you mix them with mashed potatoes, seasoning and maybe capers, spring onions, a sweet chilli dip ..... etc ?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I went through a phase of trying all sort of herbs in cooking, with some success, but now I have many packets and jars of herbs I know I will never use again or very rarely. Still smell ok though. Maybe I should make an effort and start cooking with them until I used them all....0
