poppycracker wrote:Oh and my tip with couscous, pour a little into a dish, add a chicken cupasoup and pour over boiling water. Put the lid on and in about five minutes you'll have a meal all ready! Yum! And easy peasy too.
That's a brilliant idea, thanks for that. I bought a box but DH hates it and I've been wondering what I could use it for.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thanks very much for those recipes, particularly the fish one as I have a couple of skate wings in the freezer and was wondering what I might cook to go with them, but that sounds delicious!0 -
chatta wrote:Coscus (cant even spell it) I see it in all sort of ready made meals but somehow doesnt look same when i cook it
ooh cous cous is a fave in our house,as versatile as rice but easier to do lol
make it up with some veggie stock instead of just hot water to add flavour, allow to absorb the water anbd fluff up with a fork
add whatever herbs etc you like ,lemon and coriander is lovely
then i top with roasted veg - peppers, red onion, cherry toms, mushrooms etc done in the oven with some cubes of feta added at the end so they slightly melt
sometimes add left over chicken chopped up aswell
yum yum0 -

mix it with the mash you use to top cottage / shepherds pie etc
or add to sausagement for sausage rolls
or just make into stuffing balls and have with any roast dinner0 -

tin of salmon
tin of tomato sardines -bleurgh
8 tins of soup dh bought and swore he needed them. we are now on a new calendar and they are st ill here - in fact he keeps adding to them!
i mash them up and serve them on toast to my son ,i tell him its tuna and ketchup as he loves tuna !!
the tins of soup use in a pasta bake / stew or something ,depending on what flavour they are
with the suet try suet roll its delish and you can add whatever filling you like
but bacon ,mushroom and red onion is lovely !!
Make up a batch of suet pastry ,roll out and spread with your choice of filling and roll up. Place on a baking tray in a hot oven for about 30 minutes.
i either make one big one and cut it up or make mini individual ones
i got the idea from someone on here but cant remember who now ! but thanks whoever it was lol0 -
