Ooh - snap on the quinoa! I'm sure it must be out of date by now, but its supposed to be SO good for you.

I recently threw out a packet of nori seaweed. I went through a phase where I was mad about all things Japanese. To the point where I asked this Japanese guy who was on secondment at the place I worked at the time, to get me some nori. I had this little picture in my head of me producing these perfect sushi rolls. Yeah right. I just get the bento box from Pret when the craving strikes!

Do you mean in its consitency or otherwise?
I'm sure some of us could help you out in that regard - couscous is something I always like to have on hand.

I have quinoa and dried soya beans lurking about somewhere that have been there for god knows how long, but I'm going to use them eventually!

(Or so I've convinced myself. I hate throwing stuff away.)
I think both i eat it ready prepared  but cooking it myself just seems different, think I tend to over do it :o

I've got a tin of artichoke hearts that I got for free. They've been in the cupboard for ages as I don't know what to do with them!

    12 oz can of artichokes
    3/4 pint of water
    4 tblsp lemon juice
    4 fl oz white wine
    2 bay leaves
    2 tblsp white whine vinegar
    1 clove garlic

    Dressing
    5 tblsp olive oil
    2 tblsp lemon joince
    1 clove garlic - chopped
    2 tblsp chopped garlic

Dip artichokes in lemon juice. Put in pan with other ingredients (ignoring "Dressing"). Lightly simmer for 10 mins. Drain and transfer to serving dish.

Mix dressing - spoon over artichokes. Marinate for 30 mins. Sprinkle with parsley & serve

But you don't cook it - you just moisten it with stock or water.

Try this couscous salad with roasted vegetables

    Red Salmon

    Use it to make fishcakes

Delia says .... "The thing to remember here is that good-quality tinned salmon makes better fishcakes than fresh, so don't be tempted to cook some salmon just for this." :D
