  • Does it matter if I already have private healthcover? I won't be cancelling it but I don't want to invalidate it by buying pruhealth as well. I am just interested in the gym membership and won't claim via Pru, will cancel after 6 months. I plan to start the gym today but worry about invalidating my other insurance.

Does anyone know when the free Cannon offer will start from. I joined Pru on the 27.11 but have yet to go to my local Cannon. I wasnt sure if its starts the day I was accepted by Pru or the day I go to Cannon.

    hello

i think, the gym offer starts when the Pruhealth contract is signed.
i.e. i sent a quote on 23.11 and asked to start Pruhealth contract on 30.11. during the days, i got a welcome pack from Pruhealth and the next day (30.11) i could use Holmes Place gym. they just asked my name, as i showed the card from Pruhealth first.

    hope it helps :o
  • i've had trouble getting a membership number from cannons in cottingley, the manager for 3 weeks kept on saying give it another day then goes off on holiday with my application. finally another manager gave me a membership no. on saturday evening to which pru (who i called and said i was having problems- and said no problem) say offer expired for you, even though i have been going regulary to the gym, had an assesment and the induction all in november as well.
pru are 'investigating' this matter and will let me know in 5 days but said i could take advantage of the £25 a month offer!!!!, the manager in cannons has accepted that its their fault but what happens if pru wont accept my memebership no......

    some advise please..
    thanks

  • Hi,

Has anyone been asked to pay to use a large towel from Holmes Place? I was in there the other night for a quick swim and was asked for £1 for the towel as I was member via Pru Health.

Just wondering if this is in all Holmes Place/Virgin gyms or just mine?

P.S. I had no money so didn’t pay for a towel!
  • maz, croydon holmes place also charge for towel hire...i know some holmes places offer free towels but most don't i think.

It all depends on the staff serving you, the free towel is NOT included in this membership, but if you forget you towel, a staff begrudging you a towel, is a bit petty, especially if you don't have the money....some receptionists give the towels without even checking.....at least at my club....

The terms and conditions say that the offer ends on 30 November, and you need to apply "before" 30 November. So I think it's ended.

But I got in there before it did!!

(I'm new to Money Saving Expert forum and new to Quidco.)

There was a spanner in the works when the red "Get Quote" button on PruHealth's web page didn't work in FireFox! You couldn't click it. (Ironically Quidco recommends FireFox!) Cue Internet Explorer 7 being needed instead....

There was a tense wait for the £115 Quidco credit. Under "My Earnings" of Quidco it didn't say ANYTHING about Tracking or Tracking* or whatever.

And... I regularly refreshed the page... and 32 minutes after I'd received the confirmation e-mail from PruHealth, I'd got £115 Quidco credit!!

Also, a note guys on cancelling exiting gym membership (if you have one):

I looked at my LA Fitness terms, and you have to give them a full months notice defined as follows: contact them before 1st of the month. Then you pay all of that month. That is, "4e) if cancellation notice is recieved by LA Fitness before the 1st day of the month, e.g. on 30th April then membership will end on 31st May."

So sneakily LA Fitness informal idea of one month's notice can formally be as much as a day short of two months if you mess up.

Anyway, I can't wait to cancel LA Fitness (crucially, I am no longer in my 12 month contract with them: it's my 14th month) and defect to the more upmarket (cleaner changing rooms and MUCH later opening hours) Holmes Place! :T

    Hi

I got this offer at the end of last month. Went though quidco (using iexplorer) and my order has been showing as "TRACKED" for the last two weeks. However I have just seen today that I have been declined.

Does anybody know why? Do I stand any chances to have that reversed? What should I do?

    Thanks very much!
  • Has anyone got past 6 months yet and tried to cancel? Mine started in March and am thinking about cancelling and moving to LA Fitness.

Can I just cancel the direct debit or do I need to speak to them and give a month's notice in writing or something?

I've read the T&Cs but it doesn't make it clear.
