Please can anyone help me? My brother took up the offer in October, but didn't activate his free 6 months Cannons membership until 17th Jan. Pru have now charged him the full £25/month for the gym. When I queried it earlier, Pru told me that because he didn't activate the membership in time he has to pay the full price and won't get 6 month's free. Is that correct?

Hi everyone I am having a problem with pruhealth. I cancelled on month 8. I did not call them but cancelled the direct debit straight away. 3 months had passed since I cancelled and they now say i owe them three month payment up to 70 pounds because I did not cancel with them. What should I do?Had anyone had this problem?

For those who wanted the bike:

It seems that you have to pay £69 if you cancel it within a year? Is this the same for the gym offer as well???

Also, I've just received the Direct Debit letter from Pruhealth... So, can I call Pruhealth to activate my gym membership and insurance now or do I have to wait until they take the first payment? I can't wait to work out in the gym!

    Cheers guys.

Where'd u see these T+Cs? I'm sure I checked before signing up and all I could see was cancel with 30 days notice.

Just recieved my bike and they sent a note mentioning this. I've already cancelled my policy after three months...
  • Has anyone been paid the £115 via Quidco yet?

Mine went validated pretty much straight away but its been like that for a few months now...

Although some of the Quidco merchants do take ages to pay...

I joined Pru health about 3 months ago to get free gym membership. The term that I signed up for were:

"free gym membership after the 3rd month as long as you go to the gym at least 2 times a week".

Now 3 months on and I have recieved this notice :
"From November 1st your gym membership fee will be based on your Vitality status instead of how often you go to the gym."

I went on to their website to find out how this would effect me and got the message below:

What are you likely to pay in November?

Based on the information you’ve given us, here is a summary of what you are currently paying per month and what you’ll pay from November 1st 2008 (if your Vitality status doesn’t change).
You are currently paying: £0 per month
    Your Vitality status is: Bronze
From November 1st you’ll be paying: £50 per month If you move to Silver, this could go down to £38 per month

So apparently now instead of paying £30 for my pru coverage and £0 for my gym I will be paying £30 for my pru membership and £50 for my gym (despite going at least 4 times every week) until I build up enough points for a "silver " membership (which takes up to 4 months or more). Even then Ill still be paying £30 to pruhealth and £38 for the gym. Its only £50 a month to just go and join the gym without them!

What a rip off. I haven't even had my first "free" month yet and already theyve changed the terms. Oh and as for Quidco? Well my £85 has been validated for months now but recently the payment date suddenly jumped from July to September. I wonder why that is .............

My advice is not to go near them unless you really need medical insurance and the gym part is just a bit of an extra.

    IMPORTANT NOTE FROM MARTIN

    FIRST PLEASE READ THE FULL

    ARTICLE

Note. This post replaces the original post and the notes added there, as there is now a full article. Apologies to the original poster.

The gym discounts end in November. So if you join up now you might get the 3 months half price gym (offset by the cost of the pruhealth plan) but by the time you are eligible for the free gym cover they won't be offering it any more.
  • Just wanted to say thanks again for this awesome deal. I was a bit worried to hear the pricing structure was going to change but as it turns out as me and my girlfriend have platinum status we now (post November) pay less than before. £17 for gym membership in central London is fantastic.
