  • Looks like you can still get free gym membership over the phone (until end of November) but not on-line. That means using the Quidco route to get £115 off wouldn't include the gym membership.
  • If you phone them and say you want the gym offer, they will give you a reference number with your quote.

You can then join via quidco - just click on the link, then click on get quote, then click on retrieve quote, then enter your number. That way you get the Gym offer and quidco cashback.

You will need to phone them and sign up before the end of November.

    Hi Pinkzebra
I've rang them a couple of times now but they said they can't give out a ref number anymore so it looks like the only way of taking up the offer is on the phone.
  • Just a quick update on the new HP Bank club (opening under Virgin Active brand), you now _can_ use it under this deal - I've activated mine today!
  • So does that mean I could use the deal at any virgin active centre too? Hope so as that gym is so nice and it has free parking unlike la fitness

Cool! Did you have to pay a premium fee or anything extra fee on top of your Pru insurance?
  • I had six months free membership at Holmes Places then £25 per month.

Having made platinum on my Vitality Points I've just got my annual renewal PruHeath notice. £2.73 per month + £25 per month for Holmes Place membership!

As if the deal wasn't sweet enough. Pru Health sent me £100 Boots vouchers six months in by Special Delivery. I called to say I thought it was a mistake, but was advised to keep them. Thanks.

And to top it all off, at the end of my first year with Holmes Place they gave me a half hour massage for being a regular user.

Some Holmes Places welcome families. Mill Hill does. My 9 and 13 year old girls joined Holmes Place directly as family members. At £7.50 and £20 per month it's amazing value. A gym class 6 days a week and use of the pool. They love it and are looking forward to free facials at the end of the first year.

Make sure you join individually as if you join as a couple I think only one of you gets 6 months free.

One year in I have yet to find a catch and just wish they gave me a gift for each friend or family member I've introduced. I might have to share the sauna with MoneySavers, but go for it.
  • Still got a couple of questions :o

    - From T&C's: "7. Membership is available to one club only." Does 'one club' mean a choice of either Cannons or HP Health Clubs, or does 'one club' mean you can only go to one branch of Cannons or one branch of HP? The reason I ask as there are 4 Cannons gyms I can feasibly use depending on where I am and what day of the week it is.

    - Now Virgin have taken over HP, can you use a Virgin Active Club as a venue? i.e. one that wasn't originally a HP club.
  • Well I've got membership at Holmes Place too!

Usually a whopping £62 a month now free for first 6 months (with premium of £23.18 a month) and my £115 from Quidco showing as tracked it will average at £26.10 a month for the first year - a saving of £431!

All went through smoothly thanks to the advice posted on this forum!

Can't wait to get up to Platinum status.

Will someone tell me what this bank club is?

    Ta.

Yes - I do have to pay the £50 for the "premium Bank club" on top of my pru health premium (about 20). Even with the £50 premium, this is a significant saving, even with my corporate deal and the beauty is if you can cancel your pru health cover it cancels the gym membership so effectively, no gym lock in.

A few days ago, they were saying that because Bank was opening as a Virgin Active club, it wasn't allowed under this deal. They are now allowing Bank club to be used. I'm not sure what the story is for other Virgin Active clubs.
