Hi burnoutbabe. I did the same and then rang and spoke to someone at Pru. They said my membership hadn't been tacked with the gym membership (whether this is correct I don't know). So what he did is ask me for my application number on the phone. He confirmed my details and gave me a new application number which I entered on the site by going to the home page and retrieve saved quote

Entered that in and it brought up my quote from the phone call. I didn't see what the difference was but apparently the advisor said he would manually put this on. I think it is something to do with a backlog.

I would give them a call and explain the situation and ask if you can do it over the phone. I need to cancel my original one too.

    @ skooldaze,

What you did with the new number could seriously f**k up your Quidco!!!

@ antoniomontana - why did you do it over the phone? You could've done it online and got £115 from Quidco!

If you didn't go through Quidco you will be missing out on £115!. When I phoned them yesterday to check if signing up online was still ok to get the deal, he kept ignoring my question insisting i sign up there and then (they must be on commission). He then said he could "gurantee" id get the deal if I singed up through him. So for something like the fourth or fifth time, i asked him again whether i would get the gym deal if i signed up online because i wanted the Quidco deal!. Finally he said yes I would.. Took his name as well just in case, and that was that.

Ah well. I'm only a newbie really to this site so wasn't aware of quidco. If I had more time i.e. the offer didn't finish today and I wasnt at work then I would have looked at that side of it. You live and learn.

Still without quidco its still a bloody good deal!
  • thanks for a great spot, applied online via Q and will wait to see if the transaction gets tracked.

As for the Gym, I called the Pru and was told to wait for an "ID number" to come through and only then I can contact Homes Place (till the end of Oct) for a memebrship number which would then be validated by the Pru (so yet another phone call!)
  • Apparently you still have to pay for the joining fee?
  • Quidco has now tracked but at £0!
  • Mine's showing as £0 too on Quidco. Fingers crossed that it'll change to the correct figure later. Don't hold out much hope if I have to submit an enquiry.

mine is zero with an asterisk. fingers crossed. they seem very nice & extremely polite on the phone when you call them up. wonder where they're based?

skooldaze I believe the joining fee is deferred for the six month free period, then waived if you continue. but it depends on the club....:)
  • Need some advice on this...have read through the whole thread and am a little confused as to what to expect.

    1. I'm planning on joining the health club at the end of October as that's when my current membership's cancellation will go through (30 days notice).

    2. I have had a piece of paper through the post, no mention of the Holmes Place membership or ID number just that the payment will come out on the 7th September.

My question is, do I need to call Pru Health to get an ID number then call the Holmes Place number to receive the pack, or am I to wait until they take the payment out and then call them?
