Speaking of greek yoghurt, my fave dessert at the moment is 0% fat greek yog and stir in lemon curd to taste (@3 level tsp works for me) - give it a good old stir and it is sooo good - doesn't taste bland, just like really rich and creamy lemony loveliness (and minimum calories:A).
Am also a recent convert to the SW super-speed soup, which is just loads of veg and lentils etc but is surprisingly nice and very filling (but not necessarily also known as "windy" soup for nothing:o).

That soup sounds good, do you have the recipe? Must try the Greek yogurt/lemon curd combo too :D
Nice start to the month...six pounds over night.....no idea why, nothings changes, in fact, in a crazy mode of not caring I even had some tortilla crisps last night. (plus four oysters which is what supper was meant to be). Having a lazy weekend, lots of lazing, and laughing and the wii fit...but DH doing more than me I think.

I also got, for the first time today a decent wii fit age.

    Sounds idyllic, enjoy. :)

Well done, jackie. All the 'naturally/permanently' slim people I know have plenty of treats, but have them in moderation - reasonable sized portions (and they often know how to stop when they're full and leave something on their plate). That's just what you've done. I saw that thread on OS too, fancy one (or two) myself now :D

This is how I *used* to be and it was so effortless at the time, and it is how I want to be again!!!

I am so proud of myself today, especially refusing the second biccie. Onwards and upwards!!!

Hugs to those who are finding it hard (two steps forward, one step back etc) and well done to those who are being iron willed!!!

  • Hey all,

Can I join in again please? I went a bit AWOL last month, but things got a bit chaotic - the last of my uni assignments were all due about the same time, so eating and exercise were the last thing on my mind!

May's another month though - so back to it!! I'm off to have a bacon sarnie for lunch (The SW way of course! ;P)

    xx

    Hi everyone,
I like BarmyCow´s tip to add lemon curd to Greek yoghurt, although given that last month I ate 1/3 jar of strawberry jam whei I had a sweet craving and no "goodies" at home, I think I´d better not buy a jar of it just in case! I often add a few raisins to Greek yoghurt to sweeten it. Raisins are high in sugar but they also add fibre and count towards the 5-a-day.
Salad for tea tonight. I´m not that keen on lettuce but I am going to slice the lettuce thinly then add tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, tuna and low fat cheese and drizzle with some olive oil and white wine vinegar to make it taste nicer.
Hope you´re all having a good day.

Tiptoes in... Can I join please? :) I have a LOT of weight to loose! :o I'm to scared to say my actual weight in public but I think I'd be classed as morbily obese so I need to be here for quite a while! :o

Hi all, just copying this from my post on another thread (too tired to type it all again!).

I had a slip up last night... found some unexpected chocolate (Rocky bars) last night and ate three. :o I am so cross at myself.

After I had eaten them, I was browsing the internet and came across an article by a woman who had lost lots of weight at the age of 40, and she was happy about it, but also devastated at the thought that she had 'wasted' her teens, 20s and 30s being overweight.

She was grieving for the 'lost' years and asking herself 'why didn't I do it sooner, I could have felt this good years ago'. It struck a chord with me. Obviously I am not as OW as this woman was, and have only had this extra 1.5 stone for the last 2-3 years, but I was suddenly struck by the thought - do I want to spend my 30s being unhappy with my appearance? I want to look good while I'm still young enough to get away with certain things, so now is the time to do it! Not in ten years' time!

This has really opened my eyes. I am not getting any younger and I want to get back into my nice clothes sooner rather than later. So today is Day 1 of No More Excuses. I'm not going to ban chocolate altogether but I am going to be very strict and only have some if I've been very good all day/week and earned it. I'm toying with the idea of designating one day a week when I can eat anything I like, or perhaps allowing myself one little bit of chocolate every day or two. Either way, I feel revitalised after reading that article.

OK, off to catch up. Back soon!

Tara do you have a link for that article? I'd love to read it!

My goal is to be slim enough and fit enough to be able to walk the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Peru in 2 years time. :j Its somewhere I've always wanted to go. That gives me 2 years to save up as well! :p

taka, you can check out a rough idea of the ideal weight for you on the Boots site bmi chart. Dont take it too seriously though as they give my ideal weight as about 10 lbs less than it really is. I used to be a size 10 and spent my life reassuring everyone I wasnt dying from something so I was too thin and yet the BMI chart says that was my ideal! But it will give you a rough weight to aim for.

I was on the obese bit of the chart last year and now Im smugly on just the overweight bit :)

taka, welcome - I will try to find the link for you.

    CWM - welcome back!!!

    c l a i r e - you're fairly turning over a new leaf with all these challenges!!! :D

hethmar and Rotherham Lass - well done on the losses!!!!!!!!!! :T

Valentina, your salad sounds fab, enjoy. :)

I ate a big early dinner today but didn't go too overboard. Mum made rhubard crumble for dessert so I waited 2 hours to have it, and that's me finished eating for the day. Hopefully anyway!!! I feel very full. I had 2x toast and butter for brekkie (Mum again), and an apple and some strawbs as a snack (didn't have a lunch as dinner was at 3:30pm). I'll WI tomorrow and am really hoping for a loss.
