Uh oh. I've been on holiday, the week before going I put on 1 3/4 pounds and while away gained another 4 1/2. That's almost 1/2 stone gained in 2 weeks. I knew it was going to be bad though as I was a massive pig and the food was delicious. Ah well looks like I'll be with you for a while yet...0

Hello everyone,:hello:
I can't believe I have only just found this thread and today of all days. What a wonderful idea. 2010 is going to be the year I am taking control of my life. Already making big inroads into the debt. Now to take control of my health.
Last night I had a revelation. I have put on 20lb since I met my husband and last night he admitted he doesn't like it. In fact after I met him I got down to 8st 5. Now I am 10st 1.
That would be okay if I didn't have a small frame (so I am now mostly made of fat:rotfl:) and I have a ridiculously fast metabolism, (yes I really have had to consume some calories to gain this weight:p). I really have no excuse for this weight gain.
So today is the first day. I would love to join the end of your month's challenge and try to lose 2 lbs and then go for the 7lb in June in earnest. I would love to feel like I was part of a group that I can talk to every day. Please say I can join. Can I, can I?:j
Was feeling quite positive today, and this thread has actually made me feel excited.

İ have been seeking this site too!! i was pointed your way because i was talking calories on the slimmers world thread and it seems they dont work this way.
i started dieting on the 7th april and joined a gym--i have lost 8kgs by calorie bindging and constant exercise-i live abroad and dont have all the regular food you have or clear labelling--i dont seem to be able to count calories because i think i only eat 1000 a day with my reckoning and i do 3 hour work outs almost daily--a 1000 worth of cardio plus weights is normal.
i am aiming to get to 70kgs which means i have a further 5 kgs or 10,10 lbs to go--i have just entered the safe zone on the bmi but want to be firmly in the middle before my summer holiday back home--so what do i do now??mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

many thanks for the welcomes--i look forward to junes weigh in with eagerness--i always weigh on a wednesday but am always sneeking a peek!!--i know its not right but i cant help being curious.
i gave up drinking alcohol in january before i started dieting and i only lost 1kg in 4 months--maybe guzzling full creamed coffee as a substitute wasnt a good way to go!-i have also given up coffee now to keep my insulin and blood sugar on a even keel-thats the theory but i havent noticed any change!
i do know that living abroad makes dieting easier--there isnt cheap alcohol and the pub is not a very alluring place--people generally only drink alcohol when they go to restaurants -right its my healthy breakfast time-olives and a small amount-20grms of lowish fat cheese and a small salad--a cup of tea and 2 slices of wholemeal low fat bread--i think thats about 250 to 300 calories but i am a crap counter of calories--i always start out big in the day!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Morning, and thanks also for the welcomes.
Up and dressed to go for a run. Need to get out soonish because we went yesterday at about 1130 and it was already 25 degrees. Thought I was going to die.
Subjected everyone to salad nicoise last night, to much grumbling, and then limited myself to one glass of wine. So good start, I think.
So it's all very well not buying stuff that could tempt you, but what do you do when you work in a chocoalte factory? I'm literally surrounded by scrummy chocolate. How do I not eat it? Should I convince myself that I don't like it or I am allergic? If someone brings it near me shall I start twitching and itching?:rotfl:What would you do?Debt £26k 18/10/140 -
i think it was a cool day yesterday here and i was wearing a jean jacket and jeans all day--it rained a lot but the air temp was 25 degrees--anything up to 32 for me is good--when it climbs past that in july and august i will be back in the uk--i stayed here one year and the average temp was 40 to 50 degrees and 28 to 30 at night!--my body has adapted and i do feel the cold more than i did when i first came from the uk---i was wearing shorts and tee shirts well into december in those days--i am in a warm area of turkey.
can anyone tell me whether you count calories on a portion of cook rice or uncooked--i had a real nightmare yesterday because the cook at school who thinks i am starving went mad with a huge portion of rice and chcken doner--i had to eat it to be diplomatic--you know what these women are like!--i was stuffed and didnt eat for the next 16 hours-i dont know how rice or pasta is weighed?mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

Thats a good site dragon. i use myfitnesspal it gives details on calories but also an indication of how many you lose doing exercise.
I haven't done very well this month. seem to have stalled at 3lbs but then i haven't been putting much effort into it. But tomorrow is a new week so will do better! I'm 9lbs away from my next goal so need to get moving! literally lol!
Hope you all have a good week0
