Down 7 and a half pounds
That's my 2stone reached. Cooor, didn't think I'd get there after spending the week yo-yoing up and down. Can finally relax and stop being naughty and weighing myself every day to see if I'm there like I have almost every day this week
Well done everyone for your losses0 -

Bills, I started out on the couch to 5k running program but after a few re-starts I have switched to the 10k training plan that came in my race for life booklet. I'm doing a 10k race for life in July and the the Great North Run in September . I'm at week 1 at the minute, which is run 2 mins, walk 3 mins for 20 mins. My boyfriend has done me some podcasts which are really helpful but it's so hard. I really don't think I am cut out to be a runner, but I have always wanted to do the GNR and I know I'll be so proud when I cross the finish line. Mild panic because there's only 10 weeks until the 10k, but the training plan is a 6 week one so I hoping I manage it! Just got to make sure that I run 3 times every week until the big day and hopefully i'll be ok:A
Well sounds like your doing a good job anyway, just thought i would see if I could offer any help. I love running and for me, the best way I have found to keep me motivated and get me back in shape after periods of slacking from running. Is to start with a low mileage run and do that a few times and time myself aiming to beat each time then I add distance on. Different things work for different people, good dancey upbeat music is my prefered type of music to pound the pavements listening too as well, that keeps me going too. You ever need to map your routes out too check out Mapmyrun.com too its a great tool for runners.0 -

I must admit I'm too scared to weigh myself. I should've done it yesterday... eekI will do it on the 23rd instead and then do my final weigh-in on the last day of the month.

Hey y'all!!
hope you're all having a great week?? Sorry - I've become a terrible poster, I'm just such a busy little bee at the minute I've hardly had time!
3lbs off for me this week - totally flabbergated and not sure how - but I won't complain! I'll just be keeping my fingers crossed it stays off for next week!
I'm off to have a wee read through the thread, at a first glance you all seem t be doing well - keep it up!

Hi all *creeps back in with tail between legs*
Sorry I've been AWOL for quite a few days, I've been having a very hard time at work and eating too much and just a bit miserable about my weight. But yesterday I had something of a tipping point.
I got on the scales - still 10st - but I also realised that I can now SEE the extra fat, really see it. Does that make sense? I could see my fingers getting fatter, my tummy getting rounder, the tops of my thighs rubbing together etc. And it horrified me in a way that the scales didn't!
Anyway, I had a big heart to heart with OH, who is very kind and told me that I don't look any different to him (bless), but that if I wanted to lose weight he would support me. So I took a good hard look at myself and worked out what I'm doing wrong. I've given up eating buttered toast for brekkie, which must surely be saving me lots of calories, but my HM lunches, though healthy, are on the large side and I have NO IDEA how many calories are in them. No doubt too many!!!
So I'm going to start letting someone else calculate it for me. I'm going to start eating M&S/Tesco salads etc for a while so that I know how many calories are in them. And I'm going to start eating healthier, smaller dinners - grilled chicken or fish with vegetables and/or brown rice. And I need to get used to feeling hungry once in a while!!!
I'm also going to exercise more. I already do a fair bit - cycle or walk to and from work, with another 45 minutes walking at lunchtime and a few evening walks - but clearly this is not enough to lose weight with the amount I'm eating!!! So I went out on the bike this evening for an hour, it felt so good. I deliberately chose a route with a couple of steep hills to challenge myself. I also stopped at M&S on the way home and bought myself some exotic fruit, plus prawns and seafood sauce for tomorrow's lunch (I wanted a salad but they were sold out). I am serious about doing this now. This is New Tara, watch out flab!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, am off to bed shortly but will catch up with everyone tomorrow. I hope you don't mind the mega post, I just wanted to get it all down in black and white.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I know exactly what you mean when you say you can 'see' the fat Tara. I had a horrible experience in the Matalan changing rooms when I turned around and looked in the mirror and saw what looked like a barrel staring back at me!
I also had a problem with portion sizes a few months back but I reduced them slowly and according to what I was doing that day. If I was working I would have 2 weetabix in the morning to keep me going, if I wasn't working I would only have 1. If i'm having a sandwich I now only have 1 slice of bread and cut it in half and make an open sandwich, you still get the illusion of a sandwich but without a slice of bread on the top (it still looks the same amount as a normal sandwich to me :rotfl:).
Bike riding should really help, i've just got myself an exercise bike which I go on everyday. Things like cleaning can be classed as exercise as well, just put on some music and get the hoover out and boogy away. Remember also to make sure you drink enough, when I measured everything I drank in a day last week it wasn't even a litre
. Finally please don't 'starve' yourself if you're feeling hungry. Try having a drink and see if that helps but if not have a piece of fruit. I made this mistake last year when I did Slimfast and actually put on weight as my body went into starvation mode because I was always feeling hungry. Try eating little and often and don't be too hard on yourself if you fancy a treat every now and then (I ate a whole mini toberlorone (sp?) the other night
).
