I've had my offer accepted too, and the memorandum of sale came through today - no questions/fixtures & fittings lists yet. Mortgage appointment tomorrow to sign on the dotted line.
What's the 'average' time to complete? My solicitor suggetsed 6-8 weeks from now.0 -
Hello again! I've also had my "Memorandum of sale" although have to admit I didn't know it was called this! I'm having a slight panic at the moment that my two large sofas won't fit in the lounge :eek: I wonder if I can ring the EA and ask for some measurements?0

Sure, they'll have the basic measurements on their plans, but if you want more details re doorways alcoves etc, just ask to pop round for 15 mins and measure up. Remember to measure up for anything else while you're there

How's everyone doing this week?
For me, I have been to give my "proof of ID" to the EA (money laundering regs), signed the mortgage application & supplied all the relevant documentation and paid the first money to the solicitor (searches etc)0 -
Hi LE3! I got my credit report and all is fine with it - so a lot more confident proceeding now with the mortgage
. All the gazzillions of documents have been gathered for the mortgage and formally submitted, solicitor has been instructed although his update is that the vendors solicitor is being a bit rubbish and hasn't provided him with what he needs so he hasn't gotton very far yet.
It also doesn't help that part of the lease is in Welsh (on a London property) and needs to be translated!0 -
Hi wessexw - I think the "bad" thing on your credit report from the 2nd lenders POV was probably the AIP/search from the first lender, which isn't likely to be a cause of concern to the first lender!
Either that or they just have different lending criteria and your credit profile didn't suit their taste in borrowers0 -

When I spoke to Lloyds and they charge £275 for their valuation survey, which I would have to have through them, or £500 for a full survey. DOes anyone know if it normal for the mortage provider to do their own rather than let you arrange your own?

When I spoke to Lloyds and they charge £275 for their valuation survey, which I would have to have through them, or £500 for a full survey. DOes anyone know if it normal for the mortage provider to do their own rather than let you arrange your own?

Valuation survey has to be done by the lender, and you can either tag another level of survey on top to be done at the same time, or pay for your own separate one as well.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0 -

No you should instruct a solicitor now, otherwise you will hold things up.
