You'll have to go back to the store and confirm the price unless others here know. Please ask questions like this in the Tesco Discussion thread from now on. This one is only for posting misprices!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

Constantine wrote:Admittedly Sir Terry does not run everything by me, but I would be astounded if this site is monitored in anything like an official way.
It just does not happen. I wish it did...
I'd be surprised indeed if Sir Terry (or any other corporate bod for that matter) came down to store level and personally asked any of his shop floor assistants for their opinions....he'd get some other lackey to do that.
I've often wondered Constantine with you being very helpful and a mind full of knowledge, (as a Tesco employee) what position do you hold again? I can't remember, was it Customer Services? And if how do you know/can you know what goes on at corprate level?
Another point of discussion if you would be so kind, is my thoughts on why wouldn't this be monitored? Admittely atthe onset of this one would think why bother their @rses about this but, in your own words further down in the thread about wastage and shrinkage, key performance indicators, CS staff welcoming regular R&R's by their forum names, if this is being monitored by 'key' instore staff, then why wouldn't this be escalated further and some kind of monitoring going on at a higher level abliet the actual owner of the company...
Ta.
(Other regular R&R's what do you think of this point? Its an interesting topic/thought)...?0 -

I've met Terry twice, both times unannounced visits. Nice bloke mostly. Has his finger more on the pulse than you would possibly give him credit for. He travels alone, not surrounded by Yes men.
I'm a Trading Manager, Deputy to the Store Manager. I don't *know* what happens at a corporate level, but I do have a fair idea of how the company operates and I certainly know what hits the stores from the centre. I have never seen anything come down that even comes close to refering to anything from on here.
I do not monitor this site as a "key" member of staff. I joined mse because I'm in debt! I contribute to this thread because its a subject I have knowledge on (in someways unique knowledge). I do not think it is monitored at all because if it was, I do not believe the same products would still be appearing week in and week out (which is why I wrote "I wish it was". It is not pleasant reading about the same item being miss priced over and over!). The centre already has all the information it needs the moment a refund is processed.
Certainly is an interesting topic. Spookily, very similar to one about 6 months ago, but then I guess nothing is ever new any more  My personal take on it, based on my experience - There would be (significantly) less r & r's if this site was officially monitored...therefore it can not be monitored. I can see why people may think it is, but I suspect this is based upon the negative experience they may have recieved in store.
Did that cover everything?Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
I'm afraid I have to do it! I'm with consantine most of the way on this one. Tesco monitoring is by no means the reason behind any reduction in misprices, how do I know this you might ask? Because there hasn't been a reduction that's how, I'm sure constantine will even agree with this, more r&r means more price integrity because it stimulates the vigilance required in order to obtain it, it's that simple, there are of course other reasons but this is the main one, for example if I was to discover a misprice I can do a number of things with that information, I can keep it to myself and make a few return trips and maximise the benefit to me personally, I can keep it to myself for a while grab a few bargains then come back and post once I've had my fill, or I can grab my bargain come back here and post straight away, the first two have a negative effect on other members because they give the store and those stores in their immediate network an opportunity to have a quick whisk around and pull any misprices before word gets out which will result in less refunds for all concerned, the latter means word spreads wider faster and before the networks have reacted and results in maximum r&r, think it out.
The first two will also ultimately put Tesco in a position to do away with r&r by reducing the incidents of overcharge and having favourable figures to display when they do.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Another way to look at the lack of R&R`S in your regular tesco could be down to the fact there are loads more people trying to get them. When i first stumbled across this thread, to my knowledge i was the only one visiting the stores in my area. However over the last couple of months i have seen at least 5 regular posters comenting on my regular store.
I.E more people R&R ing Less R&R`S per person.
This thread has brought attention to the policy to masses of people. Get over the paranoia of MR T is watching. Whilst the policy is in place just enjoy it. Dont whine about the lack of R&R`S you cant obtain.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -

I'm with you on this one too. I just think word about R&Ring is spreading and more people are competing for misprices, hence less to go round.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
Yippeee - success at last!!
Healthy Living Haddock Fillets, SEL £6.58/Pack £6.64/kg. R&R given with very bad grace, muttering of "Oh for gods sake it's only 6 pence" and attitude as if I'd ripped the food out of her kids' mouths - and this after I'd politely reminded her of store policy after she said she couldn't do anything about it because packs were priced up before they came to the store.
Also overheard store manager discussing missprices with staff member and loitered to listen......couldn't catch much but gist of conversation was "Keep doing what you're doing, check every aisle every morning and we'll keep up this excellent record of avoiding R&Rs" Also heard the word "boards" but didn't get the sentence and it could have been anything. There were also two "suits" going along the aisles, checking off prices against a list and moving SELs.
Am happy now....my first R&R!:D0
