Hi regular R&Rers. I have a question about bogof's. If the yellow sel label has expired, how are you able to check what it's scanning as? I scanned a bogof item at the price check scanner and it just showed a price with an asterisk next to the normal price. Does this indicate it will scan as a bogof? How do you guys check? Thanx

You would need to go to a till as the scanners do not show a multi-buy discount, just single price and description. The asterisk - I think - is something to do with whether vat is payable or not.

I saw some mobile phones at the little tesco metro by me today and three of the SEL labels expired in june and the other in july.. one was the pink nokia 6111.. does anyone know how much this is beeping at just now as i might go along tomorrow and try my hand.. they have no scanner as its such a small store so its a bit of a risk but still SEL labels from june, surely they wont have been extended until now!?

I had two expired offer SEL's on mobiles this week so checked all of them. Not one was over priced, including the two which had expired offers. So no, its quite possible that you will be charged less than the SEL rather than more.

Overcharges don't net off waste. There is no budget for overcharges, as they are mistakes. Its not as if a store has X amount of waste, but oh you've made X in overcharges so we'll take that off waste.

Overcharges are errors, not policy. The price in the system (i.e. what it scans at) is the correct price. That is the price set at head office and thats what will be used by them in their acounting. If the SEL differs then thats what is wrong. There is no "put that price out but charge more then we'll add up what we've made in overcharging".

Why should consumers be overcharged? They shouldn't. Ever. But if people are so morally concerned with Tesco's overcharging then the relevant authorities are in place and would be interested. Trading Standards is a good start. A few fines here and there and Tesco would soon book up their ideas.

If not, then have fun on the chase and enjoy your free stuff!

Well said....They may make billions but I am sure they do not want to add to their profits by overcharging. The very existence of this policy to me is testament to that. I have only just discovered that this policy exists and now see it as a way to make trips to Tesco that bit more intresting and perhaps save a few quid here and there.

i thought i had an r & r with a motoral razor v3.... the yellow sel.. was out 2 days ago... £79.99.. scanned at £99.99.. so bought it...went to cs desk where they told me its was only £79.99 if i bought talk time with it....and when i seen the sel.. it was as he said.... so had a full refund... and no phone... made some excuse that i only wanted the phone... but anyway apart from my r & r boob.....

when they brought me the phone... they wanted to open it infront of me to check that the phone was in the box... as cs guy told me that they have had people going back saying that the phone was NOT in the box even though the box had been sealed at the factory....

so obviously tescos know there has been a problem with missing phones in the box.... just thought that this info might be of interest to people....

had the lady and the tramp dvd today.....there was 2 lots on the shelf both with diff prices.....one sa thought that i had conned them...wouldnt have it had it was their staff error.... until the sa that was dealing with me in the begining....told them straight....so r & r eventually given

also bought the organic stilton... as by now it was getting on my nerves.... so had to do an r & r with that...

i have noticed that there is a lot of meat higher priced than the sel... but when scanned its the price is right.... mini chicken fillets £2.99 or 2 for £5.
but some of the packs are priced at £3.19 but do scan at £2.99
also the meat in silver trays as mentioned before.....so i think tescos are deff... starting to play cat and mouse with us......

also noticed turkey legs... sel....97p.... but price on pack is £1.07....

    anyway....happy tescoing......................:D

When a misprice occurs on a BOGOF do you get a refund on both items (ie twice the amount you paid) or just the refund of what you paid?
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

Underground, overground wombeling free, the wombles of Tesco car parks are we....

Edit: Sorry about that, it basically means scouring Tesco car parks for discarded Tesco receipts that haven't been used to claim clubcard points. This 'virgin' receipt is then taken to CS and the points are applied to the womble's clubcard.

Furher edit: This really should be in the Tesco Discussion thread as this thread is for posting misprices only....
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

I'm having a bad start to the weekend
Lady and the Tramp - SEL correct 11.97
Rimmel Mascara/Maybelline Lipstick - although all signs says this section open until 10 ( big Tesco) all displays closed up by 9.15. Tried again today at my local - no wrong sign/prices anywhere
GBA Shrek - SEL but no actual games - only ones there were DS
Dove Shampoo - found them, but went thru correct on BOGOF at £1.93:mad:
Tesco Ab trimmer - correct SEL
Alanis morisette cd - correct SEL
DVDS - Cinderella and Barbi - no stock

    Not R&R just cheap lines:
Tesco 1kg washing powder @12p and
Persil Comfort 1kg for 72p - cannot find any stock anywhere, but did EVENTUALLY track down some of the
    Tesco antibacterial hand wash . 250ml = 27p and 500ml = 34p

    Thank goodness for Chocolate.
After trying all week and about 6 diff stores, finally struck gold (Aero Chunky Truffle Bars ) but sel removed, and checked back yesterday with this store ( so far only one I found who has the Truffle ones) and sel still missing

Boy this money saving is time-consuming !!
