FloFlo wrote:Also possible misprice in Tesco Newport Road, Tesco microwave with grill - floor stack and bottom shelf price £49, higher shelf price and shelf talker £44. Didn't have time today and won't be over there for a few days. I know that one or 2 shop there, so thought it was worth a mention. Hope that this info doesn't bankrupt Tesco.
I noticed these on Thursday with two different prices but close examination showed them to be different modelsOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0 -
Just back from tesco and spotted a phillips 26" lcd tv sel expired 8/8 £599 but the empty yellow and red cd box in the rack for it had a price of £699 and stated it was for the same model number. There were 3 boxes in the rack but they didn't have bar codes on so I couldn't price check. Should I pluck up the courage to try it? Am I likely to get such a big item without a row? Does anyone know what these are scanning at?0

The recent turn of events where it seems to be a competition who can get an xbox or ps2 or mobile phones is not only childlike, it is extremely disappointing and has served to change my opinion, this thread should be closed, it has moved from a discussion on the policy and the service obtained thereby into a haven of greed and boasting, virtually no comment is made on the policy itself except when people moan that CS haven't stuck to it rigidly and to moan when the staff arent happy about giving profits away.
Fair play to those who enter into the spirit of the R&R policy, long may it continue.....those who are out to make a quick buck and then boast about, i reiterate my belief that one day you will spoil things for the rest.
Here endeth the sermon and my participation.
Whilst I do not agree with all you say I respect the way you say it, it is educational for us non-employees. As far as I remember you have never been rude despite some provacation and I wish you well
I R&R when I can, usualy meat and fish and enjoy the free meals and I can see both points of view about the Tesco policy but while it is their policy I will continueOnly time will tell if I am right or they are wrong0 -
Hi,
I managed to buy a PS2 for £114.91 yesterday morning. They were advertised at £99.97. I took it to customer services and was told that that offer had ended (the girl was gone for about 15 minutes). I was told I could have my money back, or keep the PS2 which I had paid £114 for.
I had asked the price, and knew it was a misprice, so yes I was after a 'free PS2'. I couldn't stay and agrue the point as I had to get to work, so I got my money back. I've been on the phone to the main CS number, and was told that I could buy one at £99, but couldn't have an R&R, as I knew the price, because I asked (there is no self-scanner in this store). Any comments / advice. Should I just say fair play, I was after a free PS2 anyway? Not very impressed with the way CS treat customers, i've only ever done one R&R before and my family must spend £500 per month in store !
Comments please.........0 -

i would have insisted on an R&R.. you may have asked the price but if it still went through higher you would say you assumed the discount would come off at the till as you saw the sign after asking what the price was. They are already offering discounted PS2 so their one step closer to agreeing to a full R&R IMO.. anyway where does it say on their policy that you aren't allowed to knowingly buy overpriced goods? i would pursue it and ask for a R&R as they were still advertising a false price, whether it had expired or not is not your problem!!

gt568 wrote:Personally I'm not out on some revenge mission against Tescos, I don't really care how much profit they make. I see R&R as part of my greater money saving ethos, a "tool" to be used in conjuction with other methods of money saving on this site. Things are tight in our household, like many others on here I'm sure, so I don't want to see R&R stopped, it's enabled us to eat things we couldn't normally afford, and long may it continue. However I'm no loner comfortable with R&Ring purely for the sake of it, I admit I did this when I started out, but if people want tohunt down an x-box or whatever, so what? Live and let live I say, its personal choice at the end of the day isn't it?0

Hi regular R&Rers. I have a question about bogof's. If the yellow sel label has expired, how are you able to check what it's scanning as? I scanned a bogof item at the price check scanner and it just showed a price with an asterisk next to the normal price. Does this indicate it will scan as a bogof? How do you guys check? ThanxDon't you just hate long signatures :eek:0

kiddy_guy wrote:R+R - Overcharges by Tesco surely net one another off.
Why should consumers be overcharged? Tesco make billions every year so why should I feel any guilt about the fact that they overcharge me then argue the toss over giving me my money back?
Overcharges don't net off waste. There is no budget for overcharges, as they are mistakes. Its not as if a store has X amount of waste, but oh you've made X in overcharges so we'll take that off waste.
Overcharges are errors, not policy. The price in the system (i.e. what it scans at) is the correct price. That is the price set at head office and thats what will be used by them in their acounting. If the SEL differs then thats what is wrong. There is no "put that price out but charge more then we'll add up what we've made in overcharging".
Why should consumers be overcharged? They shouldn't. Ever. But if people are so morally concerned with Tesco's overcharging then the relevant authorities are in place and would be interested. Trading Standards is a good start. A few fines here and there and Tesco would soon book up their ideas.
If not, then have fun on the chase and enjoy your free stuff!0
