    TESCO AMERSHAM BUCKS
Lamb chops small and large sizes sel £9.98kg sold @ £10.98kg
Thin Beef steak sel £7.48kg sold @ £6.77kg
    Shetland Isle Salmon as B4
PLEASE HIT THIS STORE HARD as the Gorilla of a (non) compliance manager would not allow R&R as said due to so much, I must have done this 'on purpose' Only pass this store occasionallly, but has always had overcharges.
So in anger went to Slough; Duck crown sel £4.79 charged £4.99 and Shetland Isle Salmon as B4 Full R&R!
Still angry, went to Windsor: Salmon again, and Pork Crackling Roast Joint sel £2.98 charged £3.98 Full R&R.
Glad to find you all here, been doing this for over two years. Can't believe the neg comments from some who 'role over' and let these companies rip you off.

Did you try and r & r one or two packs from Amersham, or did you try to get over a hundred pounds worth?

Oohhh..did someone try to do that recently, Constantine? To me, that's just plain greedy and over the top.

SEL is shelf edge label, the yellow ones are for varying promotional purposes and obviously stand out but by no means the only ones to be incorrect, the fact that they are the easiest to spot is the reason behind their abundance on this thread, there are many standard white sel's out of sequence at any given time, they are just far more difficult to spot, unless you are familiar with the price of a certain product you buy regularly you are highly unlikely to notice you have been overcharged.

Re the posts a few pages back about the CSD wasting items that have been R & R'd. This is correct procedure and is part of the cost the store bears - not only have they given you the money back, they are also having to waste it. In effect paying twice. So these 360's you guys are gagging for would cost the store £400+, not the C.£200 ticket price.

The math works like this -

Say there is 1 of something in stock.

You buy it - the system now thinks (correctly) there is 0 left.

You get a refund from the CSD, putting 1 of the item back in to stock.

However, you are getting to keep it. So its not there. To correct the stock record error, the store has to waste it, bringing the stock level back down to (the correct) 0.

Up until this point i didnt agree with those that said this thread should be closed or moved. The recent turn of events where it seems to be a competition who can get an xbox or ps2 or mobile phones is not only childlike, it is extremely disappointing and has served to change my opinion, this thread should be closed, it has moved from a discussion on the policy and the service obtained thereby into a haven of greed and boasting, virtually no comment is made on the policy itself except when people moan that CS haven't stuck to it rigidly and to moan when the staff arent happy about giving profits away.

Fair play to those who enter into the spirit of the R&R policy, long may it continue.....those who are out to make a quick buck and then boast about, i reiterate my belief that one day you will spoil things for the rest.

Here endeth the sermon and my participation.

    I tend to agree.

But I can't stand not knowing if anyone manages an elusive 360, so I think I'll stick around for a bit.

Somewhere along the line, however, it must go down as a refund due to pricing error, right? Personally, I don't think £400 is going to make much of a difference in the overall cost of waste generated by the individual Tesco stores. I know for a fact that the waste per week at my local Extra runs into £1000s of pounds.

£400 is a huge amount on a stores waste bill. Without getting in to boring specifics, say the waste budget was 1% of turnover (varies from store to store but thats not a bad average...bit higher in most superstores, perhaps lower in an extra).

For ease, lets put your extra on £1m/week. So that store has £10k a week to spend on damages and reductions...

Trust me, thats very hard going!

As it was me who posted about the 'waste' situation, many thanks for clarifying that! But, fact is, this will still be written off against Tesco's overall tax liability, as it's 'waste' - I suppose, a similar scenario to shoplifting albeit totally legal? What I was trying to get across is this sort of thing is not quite as 'damaging' financially to Tesco as some people may imagine....
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
