The recent turn of events where it seems to be a competition who can get an xbox or ps2 or mobile phones is not only childlike, it is extremely disappointing and has served to change my opinion, this thread should be closed, it has moved from a discussion on the policy and the service obtained thereby into a haven of greed and boasting, virtually no comment is made on the policy itself except when people moan that CS haven't stuck to it rigidly and to moan when the staff arent happy about giving profits away.
Fair play to those who enter into the spirit of the R&R policy, long may it continue.....those who are out to make a quick buck and then boast about, i reiterate my belief that one day you will spoil things for the rest.
Here endeth the sermon and my participation.
See ya..........

Bought one of the sel £209 xboxes today, scanned it and it came up as £239.97.
Went to CS to pick it up and queried the price. We both went to look at the sel only for her to say that if I wanted the £209 one then I should have picked up this one. Pointing to the correct one.
What a pillock. I had picked up the wrong one in my haste to tell everyone that I was the first one.
Got a full refund but kept the points though.
All special offers have now been extended until 24/08/06 in all Norwich stores along with the PS2s.
Guess that we will have to start all over again next Friday.
Mr T. playing games with us I think. Good one.

Shetland Isle Salmon as B4
PLEASE HIT THIS STORE HARD as the Gorilla of a (non) compliance manager would not allow R&R as said due to so much, I must have done this 'on purpose' Only pass this store occasionallly, but has always had overcharges.
So in anger went to Slough; Duck crown sel £4.79 charged £4.99 and Shetland Isle Salmon as B4 Full R&R!
Still angry, went to Windsor: Salmon again, and Pork Crackling Roast Joint sel £2.98 charged £3.98 Full R&R.
Glad to find you all here, been doing this for over two years. Can't believe the neg comments from some who 'role over' and let these companies rip you off.
Like you just rolled over. You need to stick to your guns and got them to phone HO. You would have got your R&R then.
So what if you did it on purpose. It is them that is breaking the law, not you. It is their policy not yours. etc, etc.

anyone know of any good electric items / computer games (basically non-food items) which would be good for be to begin my R&R career on please?
My local t has the high price back on £99.99 for the BT Zenith phone bundle0 -
They've changed the SEL in my local Metro. I went in to buy bread so thought I'd sneek a peek at the Xbox. New yellow SEL with same price and offer end date now says the 24/08/2006. They aren't normally that quick off the mark to change the labels in there, so I was quite surprised. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Went for my first trip to Tescos for R+Ring and failed miserably. I was looking at digital cameras and MP3 players as others have managed to get these. At the Ilkeston store though they only have one on display and you have to ask the assisstant to get you one so you can pay there and then. Obviously couldn't get one to the self scanner to see if it was the wrong price.
Thought I had myself a mobile phone as there was one with a SEL with the offer running out on 8/8/06. It was £139. Got it to the scanner and it scanned through at £129. SO close!!!!
I even spent ages prowling through the meat section and everything seems to be priced correctly. Ilkeston are obviously on the ball.
Any suggestions for more success? I felt really obvious by going to the scanners. Felt like I was being watched.
Will try a different store next time I think.People die, buildings burn, but true love is for ever.

Went to Crooksfoot Ashford. Bought a couple of Rimmel mascaras on offer for £2.79ish each. They were on a proper Rimmel plastic stand with the offer embossed on it. Full price was £4.26. Charged full price at the checkout, so went to CS for my R&R. £8.52 in my hand, in cash, & 2 free mascaras..
Look for the Rimmel stand, with the white plastic display thingy at the top. There are 2 sorts of mascara on it, the 100 per cent waterproof, which I bought, and the lash lengthening double ended job.
Hope this helps all you gals (& possibly guys) out there.0 -
P.S. this is my third R&R, and I'm so grateful to all you posters for pointing me in the right direction.0

Laneyboo wrote:.. in the same shop i took 3 packs of pork loin steaks (ones i have been R&R'd on in a different store) and the CS manager went away for ages.. now the difference was the SEL said £6.48/kg and the packs were £6.49/kg.. she came back and said "ive stuck new labels on and ive found it makes no difference what the price per kg is .. only the weight." - to which i replied of course the price makes a difference..she interrupted with "its not even a penny difference so the price works out the same".. quite clearly its 1p different just like if i gave you 99p you wouldnt have £1.. she wouldnt budge and maintained her labels were correct despite the overcharge per kg. got a refund on them and they kept the pork but at the same time i still think shes very wrong... hmmmm anyone else had this trick pulled on them by CS staff? im still quite annoyed that she thinks im so stupid as to believe that it works out at the same price
This is just one of the reasons why I haven't been for a meat/fish R&R yet...Correct me if I'm wrong, but:.....
Unless your pack of Pork Loin Steaks weighed at least 1kg, then no you haven't been overcharged.
If the difference in price was only 1p per kg, you would only have been overcharged once your pack went over the point where the value was rounded up ( if it ever is) to the next 1p.
In maths you normally round up when you get past the half way point ie, if your pack weighed 500g you would be charged £3.24 and a half ( if we had half pences), as opposed to £3.24.
If your pack only weighed 200g you would be charged £1.29(6) at the £6.48 rate, or £1.29(8) at the £6.49 rate.
If Tescos don't 'round up', then as I said originally, each pack would have to weigh at least 1kg before you had been overcharged. If they do then you will have been over charged 1p if the packs weighed over 500g.
Unless you had some pretty heavy pack, I'm afraid I agree with Tescos on this one. The cs woman obviously checked that the 1p diff per kg made no difference to the price of your pack.
Hasn't someone covered this point before about being careful with overpricing on a few pence difference per kg0
