yunus wrote:Just had my 1st R&R this evening and made sure it was worth it. Went to look for the BT Synthesis phone above and could not find it. Found SEL on SanDisk memory cards out of date 13/08/08. Took a couple different ones to the counter, asked for the price, scanned £49.99, SEL £47.98, bingo! Didn't buy then. Went back and cleaned the shelf, picked up 4 1GB memory cards. After paying £199.88, went to the car, took a deep breath and returned to break my virginity (in R&R). CS woman seemed shocked at the scale of this. She asked one of the staff to go with me to show the SEL. He explained the R&R policy to me and I acted as I was very surprised and pleased. Staff took the SEL to CS desk. They phoned manager and he authorised payment in full. But then they sent another member of staff to me, lovely lady, explaining the policy is we don't pay out in this case as the SEL shows date 13/08/08 and this covers us only to pay if we get it wrong up until the 13th. I asked for her name and said I would contact Head Office with your name..... and guess what she started to retreat saying that's what I've been taught but the manager is on his way to see you. Waited another 15 mins. Manager came and he started waffling about the date on the SEL. I countered him by showing the policy at the exit door, and mentioning what the staff had quoted me earlier. Eventually after 45 mins. at CS desk i got my 1st R&R £199.98, 3 SanDisk MMCmobile 1GB memory cards and 1 San Disk memory stick pro duo 1GB memory card. It was late but well worth it.
They cant use the argument about the SEL being out of date as Tesco have lots of out of date SELS and continue with the lower prices. I.E. The Pimms.0 -
the tescos i have had r & r's in allways put it down as refund.... and then do a little note stating the price diff...including the sel...etc..... so maybe the stores that are putting down as waste.... are trying to hide it from head office.......as maybe they have had a ticking off in the passed for too many sel mistakes.......
plus if they were losing loads of money that it started to niggle at their profits...i am sure they would change their policy... and maybe only refund double the diff...or something..... as not let forget... tesco has put this r & r policy in place....so they know what they are doing.....maybe they didint count on people...with eagle eyes.....
and prob... they dont lose out at all....as by the time the r & r is spotted... how many customers have actually bought the product..and have not noticed the price diff.......like the flipping organic stilton cheese that is still marked wrongly on the sel......in a few tescos by me.....
so i personally think...we are doing our community a serive by doing r & r's ..
as we dont want people being over charged do we:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
The idea's not bad (offering R & R); if trading standards spot an incorrectly priced SEL (overcharge), Tesco would be fined several thousand pounds per overpriced item on sale (even if it is baked beans at 10p a tin, they would be charged several thousand for each 10p tin), so having eagle eyed punters spotting your mistake can save you money.:think:0

My feelings on the CS's being moody is:
We're going into their place of work, saying their company is incompotent, by making a complaint of a misprice, asking for our money back and pointing out we get to keep the product.
On the tills the cashier is the dominant one in the Tesco-Customer transaction, they run the scanning, they ask for the money.
Whereas at the CS desk, we are the dominant ones, we approach the desk knowing what we want, they haven't a clue till we finish speaking, and they have to try to appease our complaint or demand for a refund. They have to explain why Tesco sold a broken or bad item, or why the price was incorrect or mis-understood, and generally make excuse.
Its never usually a happy or good reason that somebody goes to the CS desk, so they may have the occassional bad day.:think:0 -

be patient mser's.... people are prob... doing the rounds.....so they will report back all in good time...... i am just gutted as my hubby took the car to work today as it was raining.heavy.. so he couldnt be bothered to go on the bike....he's on 12 hr shifts.. so will not be finishing until 6.30...so dont expect much when i go to tescos tonight.....
( i am watching these threads as well... with eagle eyes... to find out what peole have had. hehehehe:D )Work to live= not live to work0 -
No luck with mobile phones or mp3's this morning. Mobile phone yellow sel's all now seem to have 03/09 expiry date in my local extra store. Very dissapointing trip only found organic chicken thighs mispriced and I've had those already. Even resorted to checking the fish but no luck.0

Just noticed on the Extra website that the £239.97 World Cup one is now £259.97. The other 2 models havn't changed.
This scanned this morning at my local at £239.97 but that was at 7 this morning so might now be updated. Worth a shot?
Don't know if this price applies to shops but I can't see Tesco Extra website being dearer than the shops.
