Thats been working for me, too. these can vary wildly between stores, as some are on the ball and others are just dozing.

Am I right in thinking that this system only works if when you take the item to the till to pay for it, you actually get charged the higher price??

Therefore if the SEL says £10.99 and the pack price is £9.99, you go to the till and it scans in as £9.99 then you can't get R & R???

So then how do you know how much you will get charged and how do you stop yourself from losing out on this?

Strangely enough, the local Metro's SEL doesn't say anything about buying the game of the week.

ive read page one and the only thing I can find is that somebody posted that whatever the pack price says is the price that it will scan at - how can you be so sure????

i dont see how u find out the price it will scan at?

are you basically saying that you just look for items with a SEL lower than the pack price, then assume it wil scan at the (higher) pack price, then you can definitely get a R & R???

just got back from tescos... with the xbox 360 there are 2 on offer one with the game of the week...and another one...didnt take that much notice sorry....they were both on the top shelf of the games it was also dearer than the other xbox...so dont know what the diff is... sorry.....both finish on the 17th so will take a gander down tomorrow morning to have a look..... but knowing my tescos they will remove the sel tonight.. like they did with the health and beauty offers that finished on the 15th.....

i think there is also a payg phone finishing to night as well......

Was just about to post about the xbox, just been to Pengam Green, still loads of work going on in the store, but will be back there tomorrow bright and early!
Hopefully I'll manage an X Box, if not there are plenty of other stores to check in the area!

There is an Xbox 360 Core pack and a Premium pack.

The difference is that the Core pack has a wired controller, no hard drive and no HD AV cable. So its pretty rubbish by comparison to the Premium which has a wireless controller, 20 Gb hard drive (to save downloaded Xbox Live games and game saves, along with music, video and loads more - this is not an accessory but a necessity) and the good cable to connect to your HD TV.

To upgrade the Core to the Premium is quite expensive - approx £33 for a wireless controller, £60 for a hard drive and £20 for the cable. (approx prices - dont crucify me if they are out by a quid or two)

I would highly recommend the Premium over the Core - even if you get the Core free its goinng to cost you to run it half way decently.

Basically you either scan the time at the "price check" point (if there is one), or at a self service till or get a cashier to check it. But if the SEL is out of date you have a pretty good chance of an R + R without worrying too much - the prices get changed automatically on the system but the shelf edge labels dont get updated by the staff. Human error at its most profitable. (for us)
