I just can't believe that people are so intolerant of others. A general gripe I have with humanity now compared to 20 years ago.

    Sad state of affairs.

Unfortunately it's much of life these days.

A kid crying in a pub restaurant because they are feeling grouchy - hardly the crime of the century. We all have off days.

I'm shocked that customer services haven't replied in over three weeks. Keep at it and don't expect anything less than a refund for what you feel you should be entitled.

By the way - for future reference - if this type of thing ever happens again - don't pay the bill as presented. Tell them that you are unhappy then and there and come to an agreement (whether it's 50% or whatever - whatever you feel you SHOULD be paying). Getting your money back and/or an apology after you've paid is so much harder.

Good luck - and keep at it.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

Yes and you full well know what I meant by that comment. Obviously it wouldn't apply given they are 17!

I wouldn't care if they were over 6ft tall and built like a brick outhouse as I should expect him to respect my views and not insult nor get aggressive. Just as thought I would expect people on this forum too.

I don't believe that God exists, that the BNP are right, but I don't insult people on this forum because of it. So because I would smack children's bums when they aren't behaving I am 12 years old it seems.

Respecting views and threatening people are two very different things dear. You told me I had better "pray to God I don't bump into you", which is more than aggressive so don't come the martyr with me.

As for the smacking comment, it does show a great level of immaturity when your solution for dealing with a distressed crying ill child is to hit it.

Bless, leave he/she/it alone, as they have no grasp of anything child related, yet that classic belief that so many people who do not have children that they know it all. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

By all means if the child was ill I would quite understand, this was not stated til later on. Therefore I made the assumption that the child was just being a pain. Just as though most of the people in the restaurant also did.......

And yes, if I bumped into you with a screaming child at a restaurant or a plane I would 'confront' you by asking you to try and calm your child down. As would other people in the same situation (or go to the manager if I was in a beefeater ;)).

However, given I am a 12 year old for saying the "Pray to God" comment, does that make you acting like a 12 year old for mentioning your son being over 6ft and built like a brickhouse?

I never stated I know it all. Please quote me on that.

You have written the post I would have liked to write, but I think I would not have been quite as diplomatic...:)

My first draft wasn't at all diplomatic - but I toned it down a bit!

I usually find that its easier to talk to people at a level they understand, so I brought it down to yours. Seemed to work :D

I'm going to respectfully back out of this now for OP's sake.

LOL your whole attitude and demeanour.
I have never heard anything so bl00dy stupid as to smacking a child to quieten it down-you utterly disgust me.
