This would go someway to explain why every motorist on my way to and from work every day breaks the speed limit.

Good morning Murphy-the-cat
Sorry if the last thread upset you, "one of these days" is an old saying...... perhaps you have not heard it before.
Having a camera in the car - does not light my candle lol.
Have a good day0 -

Sorry, I don't understand you.
You said that you couldn't understand why people speed in the first place - I gave you 1 reason why.
There are millions of motorists on the road each and every day & AFAIK people have been breaking the "one size fits all" speed limits since they were introduced way back when.
It's human nature & nothing to do with arroagnce - folks want to get from A-B as quickly, safely & as comfortably as possible (sorry, I'll amend that, nearly alawys, as quickly).

& good morning to you lizzie12
I'm not upset in the slightest by your post.
& I am well aware of the saying "one of these days" - it's usually said by copouts who have no intention of doing anything about what they are talking about, and they come out with the saying as a way of showing people how tough they think they are. Unfortunately, it makes them sound like wannabes.
Here's another phrase for you (again it's an old saying, but you may have come across it before) ---- either pee or get off the pot. If you are going to photograph people doing things that you deem to be inappropriate, get your finger out and start doing it. Please let me know how your "photo in the disabled bay" campaign goes, because I feel that you may just be "peeing in the wind" (another old saying).
& I wish you a good day as well.

Cheers lizzie12
well done on taking the pictures and getting a result - that is exactly what I was on about, action speaking louder than words (yet another old saying)
Your right about this going OT, so I'll hopefully catch up with you elsewhere.

I quite agree regarding giving yourself plenty of time, some people just rush around like a blue !!!!!! fly without taking into account the consequnces of there actions.
I was on holiday recently and parked in a disabled space at a supermarket, I have a blue badge bit its for my daughter. I waited in the car as I wasnt feeling to well why my OH and daughter with disbaled badge went into teh store. A middle age woman, parked next to me, she sprang out of the car up there steps (quite quickly) into the store. I thought she didnt look disbaled to me, so I looked at her car, no disabled badge, I wasnt happy I can tell you, she got back in 10 minutes later again in a rush. I thought about challenging her but as I wanst feeling to well and was on holiday I didnt say out, but I do feel people who abuse should receive a heavy finelizzie12 wrote:Having seen the nasty after math of an accident - anyone who speeds is silly.
Give yourself plenty of time - everyone passed their test doing the correct speed so why not continue?????
We take a camera out with us - if I am not driving one of these days I will click those who get up close or park in disabled bays - no I am not disabled but parking in bays when you have a good pair of legs !!!! sorry for the rant.0 -
I been thinking about having something like that, I stick to sped but the amount fo times I seen people tailgate behind me or coem from no where clearly speeding is beyond belief.
I hate to say this but form my own experince there a very high proportion of speed merchants out therefreeloader wrote:can never really understand why people speed in the first place
(also for the tailgaters, would really like one of those LED things, saying "get off my arris" or something with similar spelling)0 -
a cup of coffee saved me 3 points this morning.
I nipped to the shop to get some breakfast and got a coffee as well, forgetting i wasn't in my car and had no where to put it so i was holding it. There was some old duffer of a copper, well past his sell by date, standing there with a handheld camera and seemed hell bent on giving me 3 points. As i was holding the coffee in my hand i was driving a lot slower than usual.0
