Hi purpleprincess, sorry to hear about your Mum, that is just awful.
I think the idea of the website is money saving, hence avoiding paying the fine.0 -

Thank you emerald.
True I suppose!! But in true moneysaving sense we should not be speeding in the first place therefore avoiding a fine!!;)Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

hi purpleprincess
sorry to hear about your Mum.
Without wanting to open bad memories, but the thread is related to speeding and a great deal of accidents in the UK (the majority ?) aren't related to excessive speed, but have other contributory factors.

The driver may have been on their mobile phone, not wearing a seat belt and just drank a gallon of ale at the Dog and Duck whilst trying to speed!!0

Keep your standards high. I keep my speed at the speed limit (unless traffic is slower or I judge the limit to be too fast) with only a glance every minute or so to check it's still right. It's easy if you think about what you're doing.
I really can't understand tailgaters - have they no sense of self preservation? On the rare occasion that I find myself too close, every instinct I have is screaming at me to back off.
Not to mention the horrible characters that brake sharply to make you crash, then claim injury on your insurance.
Safe driving is a real passion of mine, so I shall stop there as I could go on forever.0 -

Without wanting to pick a fight with you over this, I wonder at your 'judging the limit to be too fast'. People who do this are the very people being talked about on this thread who are unable to keep up with traffic and cause danger to other drivers by causing them to have to overtake to proceed along the road. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -

Haven't see the website that the thread is talking about but I got advice from a site called peppioo, as I had been caught by a forward facing mobile camera. Now a) I was riding a motorbike so to get my registration number he had to wait till I'd gone past and hand write it down, b) the camera he used hadn't been tested for accuracy on bikes c) and most importantly I WASN'T SPEEDING! The bit of road is notorious for having speed cameras and I always check my speed before getting there, on this particular day I saw the camera, looked at my speed and I was doing 42 in a 40mph area, fine I thought. I came home from my hols 2 weeks later to find a NIP on my doormat saying I was travelling at 53mph. So to get good advice and help I used this site to avoid paying and getting 3 points as I was entirely innocent0 -

Well, not entirely innocent, seeing as you've admitted to riding at 42 in a 40 zone.
