when i see a speed camera i break down to 20 lol jus incase. Even if its on a 40 road.

Then IMHO, you are a half wit and should have your driving license taken off you, until you can vastly improve your driving ability so that it does not cause hazard to other road users..

The amount of people I see speed up and slow down between them not realizing they are being measure the whole time is astounding

I was on that lovely bit of M25/M1 on Saturday, driving along at 39mph (on the dot :p - the limit is 40) with some a**e riding the whole time up my rear bumper, slowing down when he could see a camera and speeding up when he had passed it. Surely if I could work out what "Average Speed Check" means (and im not the best grape in the bunch at times) can't others

I have to say that the evil in me laughted when I saw people dive faster and slower according to the cameras  (Up to 70.......down to 40......back up to 70)

Those SPECS cameras rake in the cash as the second it determines you were speeding, the printer at HQ is already printing out your NIP letter.

I just shrug off tailgaters and laugh as they go by between cameras. Idiots.

9 times out of 10 though I just laugh because my S2 lights up the whole cabin in blue or red. You should see the amount of people that slow down when they see the blue flashing leds in my car hahahaha.

Doing that caused a fatal accident near where a faimily member lives recently

  • ok no need to abuse me, maybe 20 was an exaggeration.

Even if it was, slamming your brakes on, on a clear road could lead to a tragedy. Would you be saying 'lol' then?

When will people wake up to the fact that driving too slowly for the road is as dangerous as driving too fast

No it's not. Nobody should be driving so fast that they cannot stop in the clear distance ahead of them. Think of the "two second rule" as an example.
People may have legitimate reasons for slamming on the brakes such as an animal (or child) running out into the road. If you hit them as a result it's your fault.
    Can I help?

To an extent you are right rdwarr, if everyone was driving at 0mph there would be no accidents.

However, someone going 40 on a clear motorway will cause problems and potential accidents. More controversially, people driveing at 30 on a single track road will frustrate and cause accidents through people trying to overtake dangerously.

PS I don't agree with speeding, and think limits should be lowered in many residentail areas. However speed is not the only cause of accidents (its about 12.5-33% depending on who you believe)

It is correct that if you go into the back of someone it is your fault, but if they are purposely driving at a speed seriously under the speed limit then their ability to be on the road in the first place is in question, in my opinion.

My point was in relation to someone slamming on the brakes at a speed camera from 40mph to 20mph if you would like to read a little further up.
