    Hi Peeps :wave:

    just checked the atm and according to the mini statement the cheque has been cashed so now its official - ITS GONE!!!!!!!!!!

    woohooooo!!!!! COMPLETELY MORTGAGE FREE :D:D:D:D:D:j:j:j:beer::beer:

    This actually feels more final than when we went to pay the cheque in, most strange.

    All we are waiting for now is the paperwork to drop through the letterbox, i think that a nice bottle of wine will be cracked open later. I can hardly believe that we have reached the end of our journey.

    I will shortly be making an enormous list and planning the work that needs doing on the house :eek: There is no way on this planet that we are going to borrow for this. Each job will be saved for and then done. I intend to stay debt free forever :D

    Thanks for keeping me company folks :wave:

  • That is wonderful. I'm new to your thread (well, quite new to the boards) but I gather from your comments that you've had some money troubles in the past? I'm glad that they are obviously well and truely sorted now and congratulation again. :bdaycake:

  • Are you still grinning?? :D

    It must be such a good feeling to be MF, I can't wait until we get there. Have been messing around with the MF calculator, putting in various figures & generally getting my hopes up, lol. It looks like if we paid a lump sum (money we've saved from not installing en-suite) & then £350 OP a month (haven't worked out where that's gonna come from yet :o) & it may be possible to knock 5 years off the term?? Just pie in the sky atm but it's nice to dream!! :rotfl:

    I still haven't been in touch with the bank about the OPs I've already made :o I'm a bit of a wallflower when it comes to getting things done. I've already decided I don't want to phone (too tight to pay for the call) so it's into the branch I must go...

    Anyway, hope you're doing ok & hope you've got your gas back on & your seedlings have survived all the digging :)

    Oh & forgot to ask...did you get your 'official' end of mortgage paperwork through??

    Hi Sweet :wave:

    yes the gas is back on :D i actually had to ring and enquire about it as the rest of the street was reconnected but they forgot about us *rolls eyes* i can see myself having to ring again in a few days too as we still have a cordoned off area in the back garden where the flagstones were lifted and they need relaying. Again i think we are the forgotten house lol.

    We haven`t got the paperwork yet and i doubt that we will have it before April is out, the lender did say that it could take up to 14 days for the land registry records to be updated and then there will no doubt be other bits for them to sort out before we get the deeds. It could have been done quicker but i would rather have paid by cheque than pay a fee for telegraphic transfer. More money saved and all that :D I`m getting quite good at this moneysaving lark now you see :D ok i`m incredibly tight these days :rotfl:

    I would give your lender a call anyway, i found an alternative number that was free by using http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php if you get free calls on your landline or mobile just use one that registers as a local call. I never ring anywhere without checking that site first :D

    OOH i hope that you can knock 5 years off :j what is the official end date atm? You`re going to get me all excited again on your behalf lol.
